My surgery is tomorrow, and I have a calm feeling over me

Diana I'm 10 months post op & 1lb from Dr goal, just remember fluids 64oz per day & 60-80grams of Protein per day for life easily done after healed up in many different ways. Fluid intake counts w/protein shakes as fluid& protein together , keep as log/journal of daily fluid & food intake,even now I still get off track a bit but return to fluids for a few days & continue onward.

I am keeping everyone in my prayers! I pray we all have safe and successful surgeries and we all get the results we wanted the first time around!! God bless

jnana and Jamiep5...how are you two doing? Jnana, did you have your surgery yet? Jamiep5, are you doing your pre op diet yet? I am finishing day 5 of Optifast Protein drinks..will do Clear liquids on Monday, then surgery on Tuesday! Wow, after waiting all those months ... it feels like it is coming fast now. Praying for us all to have a better, more healthy lifestyle.

Jodie, you are so right. God is good all the time. It comforts me to know more are praying for me. My surgery is at 730, but I arrive at 6. I'm more scared about the needles, Iv & shot before surgery. I know that's crazy tho.
I will pray for you on the 13 th as well my friend.

Way to go Tebowfan! I am so glad to hear your surgery went well. And better than you expected, that is great. I pray it will go that good for me too. Hopefully you are getting home and getting some much needed rest now. Keep us updated on your recovery!

All went way better than I imagined it would from reading these posts. Thank you for the prayers. God was definitely listening . My only proble. Is peeing. I had todo a catheter twice now. Ugh! I will probably go home tonight It means so much that y'all were prAying.

Tebowfan and James, I want to apologize! I did not realize there was replies to this thread. I started out on the app and apparently missed it.
Tebowfan: I'm so sorry you've had to go through all the struggles, not at all what is deserved. I wish I knew then what I know now about the band. I hate to speak ill of it as it does work for some, but I hear so many stories of longtime bandsters that have problems. Today is your day! Congratulations, it will go wonderfully!
James: I agree, the band isn't the option for everyone and I too have heard my share of horror stories (as well as lived some). To do all over again, I would get bypass.
I received amazing news today though. Both procedures have been approved, the removal of my band and the bypass. I am looking at a tentative surgery date of May 14th! I am over the moon but suddenly, afraid. haha.

yes, my surgeon was able to complete the surgery in one operation. My surgery lasted longer than normal due to a lot of scar tissue from the band(the most he had ever seen) which was apparently what was causing me to have issues all along. My pain has subsided however its still there but the doctor mentioned that this was due to the trauma my body had gone through with the Lap Band removal & RNY in one process. Today I am feeling great and have no regrets on this revision surgery wishing you the best next Tuesday good luck.

I just got back from my post op visit. I am down 26lbs and 13 days post op. I was cleared to go ahead and start pureed foods:) he even said I could have some soft foods (as I can handle it) just to be very careful. He said I was doing well with healing, eating, and weight loss and wants to see me again in 3 weeks!!!! I'm so excited. I am savoring a yoplait Greek yogurt (banana cream) 80 cal/12g of Protein for the whole container, which I probably won't eat all of it but it's heaven!!

My surgery is scheduled for 730 on Wednesday. It's almost here. Thank you very very much for your prayers. I will be comforted greatly by them

Welcome!!! Congrats on your loss first of all, sounds like you are doing AMAZING!!
I'm not a big fan of milk so I had a hard time with my protein in the liquid phases. I substituted with almond milk which is more expensive, but it lasts longer, has less fat and a lot more Calcium.
I haven't started my pureed diet yet, I will be able to tomorrow if my doctor clears me at my post op visit. I am not a fan of cottage cheese or ricotta (unless I'm making lasagna...lol) so my Nut told me to eat low fat Greek yogurt, pudding, grits, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs (or substitute), refried Beans, applesauce (which I don't eat but when I was at the grocery store I found they have several flavors, so I got strawberry), pureed veggie Soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes. Ask your NUT and try something like that.
I know what you mean about being able to "eat normal". I have been depressed as well because I am pretty social and go to dinner with friends often which I haven't much later because of my diet. Also I have to cook my daughter dinner every night and I can't eat it so she has started not eating because I'm not eating the same things with her. There is some really good support on this thread, stick around we are all here for each other :)

Thank you @@TLawre2!! My appointment is scheduled for tomorrow morning, however, I called my surgeon's office this morning and left a message with the office manager. She then stated that she was on vacation, however, he would call me back. He called me back shortly thereafter...love my surgeon. He then stated that what I have been experiencing is normal and he would definitely check me out further when I came in. Since I have not experienced any vomiting, redness of the area or a temperature I should not be worried. Just lots of soreness on my left side which is due to the trauma my body went through during the surgery.
I have to remember that this was a major surgery and I need to chill and take time out to heal. I really appreciate you checking on me back means a lot. I'll be sure to update after tomorrow's appointment. I just hope I can proceed to the next stage and have some potatoes lol.
