YES It's NORMAL and I had that too, it'll last for about 7 days or so, then becoming less and less. MAKE SURE you eat and sip verrryyyy verrrryyyy slowly to help and IF you're eating -- chew it very very well. WALK WALK WALK WALK to help with your bloating and that will decrease the tummy discomfort and therefore you won't have pain when swallowing soon.

Hmmm... it's all about jealosy.... Wait till the weight starts coming down ... then you'll REALLY see it then. I have family members as well as coworkers treating me very differently too. I shrug it off. You just go about your happy self with this tremendous decision that will change your life -- for the better and not mind the opinion of others my dear. I choose to IGNORE those who either used sarcasm or negativity towards my WLS and I am just too happy to deal with that.

Hi all, my name is Julia. I've been on here for a little while now and have really enjoyed reading everyone's post. I am writing this from the hospital bed. I was sleeved this afternoon. So far, all is well. I went in at 1 and was in the recovery room around 3. Made it to my room around 5. I have had some pain on my right side but the nurse said that is from the hernia that was repaired while he did the sleeve. The only gas pain I had was when in the recovery, it has gone away since than. I have been getting around pretty good by myself and have even walked the halls a few time. The one thing that has just about drove me crazy is the fact that I can't have any liquids. My mouth is so dry, my throat hurts and I feel like my breath is horrible. I am so excited about this journey and would like wish everyone the best on their journey????

Where are my fellow "Cinco de Mayo" sleevers from 2014?? I hope you're all doing good. I'm great, not at goal, but happy where I am. I feel great, healthy and beautiful. I constantly get compliments -- every day, not a day goes by that I don't -- and honestly, it feels so strange as my body and my mind are not made a connection yet but I take it all in and even though I honestly don't see the drastic change people talk about, I am a happier person when I wake up in the mornings, feeling not as tired as I used to and my reflection in the mirror and in my heart are those of a happier, more peaceful person. I thank you here who were so nice when I asked for advise right out of surgery and then afterwards and God and of course, my amazing golden surgeon! Love and peace to all reading this.... and those of you that are scared of taking this leap of faith, I say DO IT, go with a great surgeon and dare to change your life for the better, for the healthier.... I can totally relate! ISN'T IT WONDERFUL??? For the first time EVER in my life, I was able to buy "regular" and not wide width sandals this past weekend! OMG, I am elated!!!!! Love love love it! Congrats! ENJOY!!!!!!!

If anyone would have told me two years ago that these legs belonged to me, I wouldn't have believed it. First of all, they are small enough to cross...second, there are heels on those feet, and lastly, check out those fishnet stockings..lol!
It's a far cry from the pants I wore every day because my body looked awful in a dress, the wide shoes I had to wear because my feet were so swollen, and the flats I could only wear because my hips and knees were way too painful to even think of wearing any kind of heel.
Ok, back to work...

YES! You just had MAJOR surgery 4 days ago.... be patient, you'll start feeling "normal" in just a few days and still.... the normal you'll feel is not our old normal, but regardless, you'll feel better soon enough. MAKE SURE you walk walk walk walk walk walk....it's truly the ONLY thing that helps.... walk as often as you can, especially after drinking or eating anything. Rest up, take it easy and be patient..... in a few weeks this will be a thing of the past! good luck, it does get MUCH better!

FINALLY a beautiful day in Michigan. I wore a new pair of shorts and didn't feel at all self conscience.

I'm getting sleeved today ! I'm excited and nervous but once I get that happy medicine I'll be just fine lol....I'm looking forward to my weight loss journey and I'm ready for the challenges that are ahead???? I'm going get ready to head to the hospital. My next post will be I'm sleeved or I'm on the losers bench????????????????

I am so tired of hearing that. I feel that people are saying that because they were so use to me being 268 lbs. now that I am 166. It is a total transformation. My family thinks that I work out to much. I try to explain to them that exercise and my new love of running is relaxing for me. Today, I ran 3.1 miles and I ran 14 min 20 sec miles. Never in my wildest dreams would I see myself running and running 14 min miles.
Has anyone been hearing that they have lost enough weight?

I spent the weekend going thru all of my closets and old clothes trying on stuff to see what I could still wear, what to give away, etc. I created a big pile of “giveaways”. They ranged from sizes 14 to 20. Once I was done, I started having doubts… “maybe I should keep this just in case” or “what if I gain the weight back”. Before I knew it, I had put about 75% of the "giveaways" back into the "keep" pile. So…I finally took a break, sat down and had a heart to heart with myself... ensuring myself that I would never go back to that old person… that this was a lifestyle change… that I was doing great, etc. Even tried on some of the “too big” stuff again to prove to myself that they didn’t fit. Finally, I put everything back in the “giveaway” pile and boxed them up and smiled. For a while there, I thought I had lost it!! The mind is a powerful thing.

So I had my real first OMG moment.
I went dress shopping for a wedding I'm in, left picture is 2 weeks after surgery, jan 19th and right picture was today! April 12th.
Same dress but 5 sizes smaller.
84 pounds down from
December 27th 2015.
I was blown away by the side by sides. I can't stop looking and smiling at this picture!! This is, by far, the best thing I have ever done for myself. Today...I'm very proud! ????????

Remember your tummy was filled with air during surgery so it's a while till all things in there go back to normal but no worries, it'll go down and start to shrink magically soon and once the weight starts to slide off, you'll be shocked at how your waist line looks! Good luck, walk walk walk and drink your Water and Protein.
