Am going for a sleeve in april 10 th

How are my fellow April sleevers doing? My weight loss seems to be slower than when I initially had the lapband. Down 60 pounds since 4/10. I can wear same clothes as I was when I was 20 pounds lighter. I do however feel much better than the last few years with the lapband.
  2. I have had issue with hair loss/thinning after any surgery I have had and I have had many. I also have thyroid disorder so it's a combination of both. I have tried many things and so far prenatal vitamins seem to be helping.
  3. Have you continued to lose if not when did you stop? Jw I'm only 7 months post op. Weight loss is slow.
  4. How much have you lost so far? My conversion from lapband to gastric sleeve was 4/10 and I'm down 60 lbs. it seems to be a lot slower for me this time around but I feel much better.
  5. I went on my first cruise 3 months post op. No issues with eating at all. I'm looking forward to my next cruise.

Anyone having the sleeve in april?!

Sleeve revision 4/10 and down 45lb. Slow weight loss for me but I'm wearing the same size I was wearing when I was 30lbs less than I am now. As long as it coming off I'm happy.

    Two questions

Yesterday I was 3 months out as well and down 40lbs with multiple stalls. I'm just thankful the weight is coming off and I no longer have the pain I was experiencing with the band.

    Sleeve vs band restriction?

I was banded for 8 years and now I'm 2 1/2 months post op from revision to the sleeve. There is no comparison in the feeling I get when full. I was miserable just about every time I ate with the band. I had extreme chest discomfort. I was not one who could wait and let it pass. I had to run to the restroom most of the time after one bite and was still hungry. In the beginning the band was great. Then I got over restricted about 2 years out had fluid removed and could never get back to the green zone. With the sleeve I haven't found anything that gives me trouble. I still eat small amounts. I do have acid reflux which I have never had b4 but I find if I eat 5 small meals a day it's better. As far as the full feeling goes toe it's much like before I was banded. Honestly I don't push it that far. I have noticed on a few occasions I get nauseated if I eat too much. It usually passes after 30 min to an hour. I was having extreme abd pain pre gastric sleeve. Hurt so bad I would go to the er every other month and get no answers. Since the sleeve I have not experienced that thank god. Pre lap band I was 312. I had gotten to 165ish in 2 years. Over the past 6 years I got back up to 266. Pre op gastric sleeve I was 266. Now 2 1/2 months later I'm at 227. Weight loss has been slower but it is coming off and I'm not miserable.

    LB or GS? Need help

If my dr was doing gastric sleeve at the time I had my initial wls I would have went that route. I had lap band 3/2006 and revision in 1 surgery 4/2014. I did not have reflux prior to revision but I do now. Gastric Sleeve is still way better choice in my opinion. I have been happy with my procedure. Weight loss has been slower. I just keep telling myself I will get to my goal. It may take time but I will do it.
  12. I also have united healthcare. Since I had complications with medical records to support it I did not have to jump through all the hoops. Only thing I had to do was pre-op education class. I have an excellent surgeon and he removed the lap band and did the revision in 1 surgery.
  13. For my revision it took maybe a total of 4-5 weeks. Sent all to insurance company got approval for revision in less than 2 weeks. Went to education class the next week and surgery 2 weeks later. Had surgery on a Thursday and back to work the following Wednesday working 10-11 hour shifts.
  14. I'm almost 2 months post op revision to the sleeve. I do not get that stuck feeling. I get more of the full feeling and a hiccup. I do not over eat or even try. I have read ppl on here say they can eat and eat. I have no desire to even try. I prob eat 1/2 cup at most.

Are you happy with your decision?

5 weeks out from revision to gastric sleeve. Had band for 8 years with complications and regain weight over past 4-5 years. So far I'm down 28lbs. Weight loss is slower than it was when I initially got the band but much easier. I do get little nauseous every once in a while but no more vomiting every time I eat.
