Any April Sleevers?
Wow!! I can't even eat more than 2oz of anything!! No way I would be able to do 1/2 cup! I'm on week two surgery4/23 and I still can only have jello loose mashed potatoes jello SF Greek yogurt and cottage cheese! I get a belly ache if I even try to eat a tiny bit more than 2oz.

Mothers day scheduled at a buffet ... Lol
I am two weeks out and I measure everything for that very reason! Be careful!!

Surgery date: June 4, 2014
I don't know if it will help but I had my surgery 4/23... It wasn't a slice of cake but it wasn't too awful... Either way.. I would do it again!!! I'm 40 lbs down already and in a little stall which is normal... I feel so much better already and it's great that I feel like I just ate a turkey dinner after eating 2oz of cottage cheese!! : ) I found biotin chews at GNC that taste good and I chew them to a pulp a tiny tiny bit at a time and so far I have had no hair loss problems!! I started them a week before surgery! I have followed my docs orders to a tee! Everything is going great! In the morning I have my Chike ice coffee cause it's full of protein and tastes good!! The Chike shakes are not bad either. I didn't like any if the other ones. If you have any questions feel free I am two weeks and one day out and feel really great!

2nd week post op
I am also two weeks post op today! I haven't weighed myself since Monday but I was still loosing then. I have been at my camp with no scale since then so not sure what is happening. But I just started Sunday on cottage cheese oatmeal Greek yogurt and mashed potatoes. Tried applesauce but it didn't agree with me. I lost 25 pre op and 15 more so far post op. I would be interested in knowing how you make out. I will post what's going on when I go home tomorrow! I have also heard there's a stall coming. Doc doesn't want me weighing every day. In fact he asked me to not weigh myself till I saw him. That wasn't happening I don't see him till the 15th! Haha

Hardest thing for you?
I was out yesterday and it was lunch time so we stopped at a dinner and I ordered just a side of cottage cheese and the waitress was like .. That's all you want?? I said yes! She brings out the cottage cheese and my friend her sandwich and soup and it took me just as long to eat my two tablespoons if cottage cheese as she did her soup and sandwich and man I savored every bite!! The waitress came back and I still had mounds if cottage cheese and I asked for a container and she looked so confused!! Hahaha it was so funny!! But I felt like I just ate a turkey dinner in thanksgiving!! It was great!! I love my new tummy!!

APRIL 21st Sleevers!
I never had a puréed phase? I'm on week two post op diet and I went from liquids to being able to have loose oatmeal/cream of wheat Greek yogurt apple sauce cottage cheese and loose mashed potatoes. I guess that's kinda puréed though?? Hahah my doc has specific foods I can eat at each level. If it's not on the list I can't have it. He musts said that a thousand times!! Ugh! Next Sunday I can have many more things! Looking forward to it but for now I'm happy with not having to have liquids only!! Hah I have my little two oz cups I am measuring everything out with!! This amount seems to be just right!

Any April Sleevers?
I am not doing great either.. I found if I try to get a bottle of flavored vitamin water down between breakfast and lunch and then one between lunch and dinner after dinner I drink some caffeine free herbal tea that helps! Just gotta keep sip sip sipping away! No way I'm gonna do 64 oz yet though it just doesn't fit! Haha

April 2014 sleevers
Omg i didnt get 64oz dwn either before surgery and now that I have had surgery It takes a long time to drink a 16 oz water bottle and when Im finally finish drinking it im super full and If I try to drink it fast my chest hurt!! Yeap same here so I do what I can. I manages to get two 16.9 bottles of water in and 16 oz or two cups of caffeine fee herbal tea so that was good enough for me! I deal great so it can't be that bad right?? Haha

Head hunger after sleeve?
Over time that will change. I'm at 9 months out and I can do 1 cup. I typically do 3 oz of meat and the rest as veggies. I know some people also do 1/2 c meat, 1/4 veggies and 1/4 c grains, per their doctor's orders. Once you pass 6 months, 4 oz likely won't be enough to keep you full for the 3-4 hours you want between meals.Really!! That's good!! I was hoping I wouldn't be stuck with 1/2 cup of food my whole life!! Haha 1 cup sounds more reasonable!! My doc has long term you eat protein first then veggie then if you can your bread or carb. This makes me feel much better!! Thanks!! : )

Where's the April sleevers....
I did the same thing!! I went out and bought some little two oz cups with lids and measured everything to 2 oz so I wouldn't overfill my new tummy!! It works good!!

Looking For The Right Surgeon!
My doc was awesome and he has done over 800 vertical sleeves!! So far I have been pain free since I have been home from the hospital. He has been really great at checking up and making sure I was doing ok and getting my water in. He did a bypass right before he did my sleeve. Doc Baronov out of Saratoga Hospital! He rocks!!
