  1. My favorite gift I received for Christmas this year is a pair of earrings my daughter chose from a Greek festival she attended at college. We had gone to another Greek festival together earlier this last summer, and really liked the jewelry. This gift is special to me for the memory of that day. My favorite gifts I gave were harlequin mask ornaments from my trip to Venice this year. I give matching ornaments to my two best friends every year, and even though we are miles apart, we have a part of each other on our Christmas tree each year. How about you?
  2. @@Ldimples sending love your way this Christmas Day. Hang in there. We're all supporting you.
  3. I never had a regular cycle until I lost my excess weight at age 29. Then at 31 I got pregnant. The weight loss was a factor according to my doctor at the time. You've got this! Good luck !!
  4. Julie, what is it about meatloaf? Feels like love. My kids wanted my meatloaf this week too. We've had a hard year but we're doing okay. I understand the birthday feelings. My husband was so cold on my birthday every year. It made me feel bad. Holidays and anniversaries are for two or more people. Birthdays are just for you. He was an ass and selfish and it always hurt my feelings. One good thing about Christmas shopping this year is I didn't have to shop for gifts that he would deliberately not open or let sit for six months. Such passive aggressive shit. Just aggressive actually. I'm sorry to go off. I wonder if l'll ever have a relationship that's two directional. One can hope. Okay, enough Christmas Eve wine. Lol.
  5. I think it croaked with the latest Apple update.
  6. Has anyone had their FitBit One stop syncing to their iPhone? I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, turned my phone off and on, and it just keeps "looking" but doesn't find the FitBit.

  8. Wow! I'd better get off my lazy ass now. Very inspirational!!
  9. Good advice. Good luck to all BariatricPal members going through their first Christmas holiday after WLS. I haven't been this size in decades. Much to be grateful for.
  10. Happy belated birthday. Sorry it's late!
  11. I am so sorry. You are a fighter and you will beat this. We are here for you to get support. My prayers are for you today.
  12. LapBand gave me my life back. Two thirds of my excess weight is gone and I can walk and climb stairs with the best of them. Even more importantly, my confidence is back and determination to have my best life is back. No regrets.
  13. I'm thinking of you today and wishing you the best. Let us know. Try not to worry. ((Hugs))
  14. Just want to wish you good luck and a speedy recovery!
  15. I was afraid mine might come back with my 100 pound loss. I'm two years without one as of November. So far, so good except this month I had some familiar symptoms like I used to get mid-cycle. Waiting to see if I get a surprise in a couple of weeks. I hope not. Those night sweats were hell and I'm glad they're behind me.
  16. Banded on a Thursday and back to my desk job on Monday. Work was fine. I stupidly carried laundry at home up the stairs though and my incisions were not happy. So no lifting. And walk whenever you can. I made a point of getting up from my desk every hour or so and walking around.

  19. I thought I replied to this yesterday but I guess I didn't. Just wanted to say I've had a rough couple of weeks with head hunger myself. Bouncing down into Onederland and back up and out. I'm being gentle with myself. And staying aware that the head hunger does not get fed with food. Or drink. The stresses I'm feeling from a pending divorce and my younger daughter leaving for a semester in Europe in a couple of weeks, on top of an edgy relationship with my mom (I'm living there for now and feel like I'm 20 again, and not in a good way) are all stressing me out in a big way. Food was on my mind all week, even though with my latest tiny fill I'm probably at the perfect green zone for now. WLS does not fix our brains. But the good news is that I have the power to recognize the underlying issues now, and the strong desire to work on them. No distractions from an emotionally unavailable and outright hostile and mentally abusive spouse. I can self-care without self-medicating. I'm kind of grateful that I'm not at goal weight yet during this first Christmas after leaving my home, because it gives me a physical goal to continue to strive for as well as the emotional goals. I hope this makes sense. I feel like I've grown a thousandfold in the nine months since my surgery. There's so much more to do, but I've got time.
