  1. @@nprcowboy, I hope you're feeling better.
  2. This was a great upbeat post to read first thing in the morning!
  3. I feel like I'm on that path. I got into counseling a few months ago, not because of WLS, but because of a long overdue divorce on top of WLS on top of my children leaving the nest. My heart knew this work must be done. I am confident that although this year has been the hardest of my life so far, self love will be the outcome. Thanks for the thoughtful post. And my sincere sympathy on the loss of your wonderful mother.
  4. Is there any movie out this weekend besides fifty shades of grey?
  5. Favorite staples for me are Canned chicken Balsamic vinegar Kale Olive oil cheese sticks Buddig lunch meat packs Greek yogurt Havarti cheese Raw almonds Raw pecans Hummus
  6. "it's all about the long game." Yep.
  7. That's impossible. You are way too young to be a grandma! Congratulations!!
  8. 2830 calories and zero exercise. Red Lobster is not my friend. It sure was good though.
  9. Sure you can. I have to be on liquids 48 hours after a fill. I was on liquids for six weeks after surgery. 24 hours? You got this.
  10. I fell on the ice three times within two weeks. I feel your pain.
  11. Not at work today. It will be hard to get some exercise in today. Dinner out with friends. I'll have seafood and keep today's total under 1500 calories.
  12. @@jfc193, yes. Staying on the boards is a daily connection to why I'm doing this and I can't imagine doing as well without the support of this community. Keep posting! You are an inspiration!
  13. I like my FitBit One also. It tracks stairs and steps and syncs up with MyFitnessPal and my iPhone. I don't really use it for the calories since I rely on MyFitnessPal for that. But I wear it to bed and track restless sleep too. It's always on my bra or my nightgown. I only have to charge it about once a week.
  14. Yikes. 2145 calories and only four flights of stairs today. Tomorrow will be better.
  15. There's a new hire in our department who started last week. This may be the first person in my daily life who never knew me as morbidly obese. For some reason this really intrigues me. I'm whoever I want to be and I'm not defined by my size.
  16. Breathe. This doesn't change overnight. But it does change. Each day gets better. Keep exercising new emotional muscles. You got this.
  17. Wednesday 1529 calories and 24 flights of stairs. Thursday half day of work due to doctor appointment but I'll get the stairs in.
  18. I heard a great line in a motivational podcast today. It had to do with getting trapped in old defeatist thinking and replacing those thoughts with positive thoughts for change. "I had to stop listening to myself and start talking to myself."
  19. Glad they got it fixed. Good luck staying on course. You got this!!!
