  1. I've had a good week with the food and some stair climbing at work. I'm emotionally stressed with divorce discovery work that is due soon and I work on it a little each day. I bumped up my counseling appointment earlier to next week to help me get some coping mechanisms. I'm working on the paperwork today on my lunch hour. Emotional questions to answer. Ugh. Anyway tonight I am dining out with two supportive friends whom I haven't seen since September. Recharging the old batteries. One day at a time.
  2. I switched from decaf coffee to herbal tea last week and I'm not missing it as much as I expected.
  3. Yep. This is the hard part. Sticking to your food plan while hunger is returning and the green zone isn't achieved yet. YET. Get your fill and keep on your plan. You'll lose weight and if you go for monthly fills you'll get to the green. Good luck ! Green is definitely worth the effort and patience of getting there.
  4. 1235 Sunday 949 Monday 1638 Tuesday 928 Wednesday My calories have been on target this week. Tonight will be a bit higher. Except for Saturday and Sunday, I've been getting my stairs in too. Something went right this week so far. Hope I didn't just jinx it. Going out for dinner and drinks Friday with friends. I'll need a good plan.
  5. I've added exercising at work by taking stairs an extra 24 flights per day. Since I work on the second floor, I walk down two to the basement, up two, down two, then take a bathroom break, then back up two. I repeat this routine twice more during the day. I just have to make sure I wear sensible shoes, and that the stairs are not sloppy from snow!!!
  6. Congratulations!! What an accomplishment!!
  7. I haven't tried too many of them but I like Chobani Greek yogurt, plain. I add 1/4 cup Bear Naked granola and 1 tsp. chia seeds to half a cup of yogurt in the morning. Yum.
  8. You're doing great ! Congrats. Those stuck episodes are rough, but mine are fewer and farther between these days. Live and learn, right? Keep up the good work!
  9. Unjury sells single serving packets of protein shake powder and it was a godsend when I traveled to Italy. You can always buy a bottle of water and pour the powder into it, shake it up and have a meal.
  10. That's great!! So far, stairs at work are my only exercise since it's too miserably cold for me to walk outdoors, and I have no intention of joining a gym, at least right now. But I'm doing those stairs. I used to use my daughter's treadmill at my old house, but no such luck where I'm living now. Excuses, true. More stairs, I guess!
  11. Never made it to the surgeon's office yesterday thanks to more snow and a traffic jam caused by an accident. I talked to the NP on the phone and told her I wasn't wanting a fill anyway, so I'll reschedule for three weeks from now. Feels weird to miss an appointment, but at least I can delay my 2015 deductible cost for a month!!
  12. Liz, you are my hero.
  13. Sorry about the mishaps. Good for you for not medicating with baked goods. Haha my autocorrect changed baked to naked. I think medicating with naked goods might be okay. Exercise even.
  14. I enjoy reading this thread. I tried 5:2 for several weeks and it helped me break a stall. I've since returned to three meals a day, but I do see the benefit of this method.
  15. Yep, you're ready.... But your doc may wait a couple more weeks. Mine was six weeks post op. I was ready earlier but that was his protocol. That satiety feeling you had right after surgery is the elusive green zone we aim for with fills. I'm at my green now and have been for a few months. I'm eleven months post op. It took 5 fills for me to get here and (I think) stay here. It's worth the wait. Do it slowly and don't get too tight. Good luck !!! It gets so much easier when the hunger is gone!
  16. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow but I won't be getting a fill. I seem to be in good green lately. One weird thing though is how my port feels to the touch. When I put my fingers on it, it feels like I could move it around quite a bit under the skin. Even turn it over if I tried. Of course I don't but that's how mobile this thing feels lately. It didn't feel this way when I was still over 200 pounds. Anybody else's port move around a lot under the skin?
  17. I'm sorry I have no helpful advice. I just wanted to tell you I hope they can figure it out for you. I went from almost a dozen prescription and OTC pills a day down to one blood pressure pill and a chewable vitamin. I don't leave my fill appointments unless I can swallow two arthritis Tylenol caplets. I've been at green for a couple of months. I'm almost 11 months post op.
  18. Do you tag your friends when you check in?
  19. Nineteen inches of snow here in Chicago. Doggy can't find a happy poop spot outside.
