  1. I flat out tell people now that it's "a lot" and the number is personal. I joke it off. "You KNOW I'm not going to tell you that number, right? "
  2. Happy band day! Karate chops on your neck and shoulders. Walk. Prune juice to prevent constipation from pain medicine. Welcome to your new life!
  3. The big picture! Amazing weight loss so far. You've changed your whole life. Your body is going through complete re-education. Please pat yourself on the back and see the long view. Your weight loss is an inspiration and NOT a failure in any way. Talk to your team and get answers. And then be patient with yourself. Let your body do what it needs to do to lose in a healthy way. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your very real SUCCESSFUL experience!
  4. We have to advocate for ourselves. We've been doormats for too long. And losing weight to "get the guy"..... Don't even get me started.
  5. Remember the Elton John song from the 70s called "The B!+€# is Back"? My school had "bring your favorite '45 to music class" day. A kid brought that record to class and was promptly sent to the principal's office.
  6. So glad I got the band. It's not a cakewalk but it works.
  7. You need more sleep. 5-1/2 hours every day is not enough. I say this as I post to a WLS board at 3am because I woke up yet again. I've seen a few articles recently about the correlation between obesity and sleep deprivation. Also, the hunger at this stage is normal. Difficult to deal with but normal. Good luck. I hope you can find a way to get more sleep in your routine.
  8. @@B-52, you are an inspiration!
  9. Sorry to hear this. Good luck to you.
  10. Yes. Chew and eat very slowly. Pay close attention to stop signals. Good luck!
  11. I have a FitBit One and wear it on my bra. I also wear it to sleep. Love it. It syncs with MyFitnessPal and my iPhone. I didn't want to wear anything on my wrist.
  12. You hear your stomach grumble when you lie down to go to sleep and instead of ravenously raiding the fridge, you check MyFitnessPal and know that you've had enough today, you're not really hungry, and those noises mean you might see a loss on the scale in the morning, so BRING IT!
  13. I generally despise fat free cheese. Why bother? But I found a really good low fat cheese stick this week. Trader Joe's Light Mild Cheddar Cheese Snack Sticks. 70 calories. I tried a sample in the store and liked it, much to my surprise. It made a good breakfast on the run today.
  14. You cross your arms a dozen times a day without resting them on top of your boobs just because you CAN.
  15. Picture yourself thin with the worst baggy skin you can imagine. Then look at your obese body now. (I mean that in the most loving way.) Which one wins? For me it's a no-brainer.
  16. I'm dealing with head hunger lately and I didn't have that come up early in my post op period. A lot has changed for me this summer and my calming mechanism has always been food. I'm trying to be aware of it each day and substitute a different calming mechanism, like taking a walk.
  17. I lost 130 pounds at age 28. Loose skin, not so much. I'm 53 now and have lost over 80 so far. Loose skin, oh yeah. Batwings, turkey neck, wrinkled thighs, belly apron. It's age. I'll probably look into plastics somewhere down the road but doubt if I'll be able to afford it. Maybe a panniculectomy if insurance covers it.
  18. @@Melanie123, you can't keep vomiting every day. You're going to do serious damage to your body and may well end up in a medical emergency. Please find a clinic or hospital that can assess your situation and recommend something for you, even if it's an unfill or removal. You can go on liquids for now until you get an appointment but don't wait.
  19. Lol Debbie. You can call me JustWatchMe or you can call me wristwatches. Just don't call me late for dinner!
  20. Hoping for the best with my band but always watching for possible issues. Thanks for your post.
  21. Sorry if this has been asked before. I use the mobile app and I can't reply to a personal conversation. It acts like it's submitted but it freezes up and doesn't send. I end up starting a new conversation in order to reply. What's up with that? Am I doing something wrong? I haven't tried it on the desktop. I use BPal on my phone 95% of the time.
