  1. Congrats! That was very inspiring. I hope to have the same success.
  2. YES!! I'm doing the the exact same thing. There are so many things I keep thinking I should get done. At least it's burning calories
  3. Remember too that muscle weighs more than fat. If your working out 6 days a week it's a good chance your losing fat and gaining muscle but it's evening out so it looks like your losing less. Just trust the inches lost. Sounds like your doing great.
  4. Aug 25th here. Start my Pre-Op on the 9th.
  5. I get this quite a bit, no idea why tho. Eating more often (every 4 hrs) and eating a Protein help. Try to avoid something g sugary, that actually makes it worse
  6. Ask your doctor for a toradol shot. It's an anti inflammatory but because it's not being digested by the stomach you can have it. Also, lidocaine Patches
  7. I've had the same thoughts. I think it's stemming from fear of failure tho.
  8. Just an idea, maybe make a juicy steak up then chew/suck out all the juices and spit out the meat. It might help
  9. Yay, so happy for you. Aug 25th here as well. I love this site. My hubby says I'm addicted to it. I think he's right but I just get so much inspiration reading others success.
  10. My surgeon told me that I can expect to lose 50% of my excess weight. This would make the surgery a "success". So he's expecting me to get down to 230lbs. My personal goal is 160-180 For you, a healthy bmi would put you between 140-180. So let's say 160 is normal for your height. That means you are 155 lbs overweight. With this surgery you can expect to lose 77.5 lbs putting you at about 237.5 lbs. At this weight your surgery would be considered a success. Of course some people lose more some less. It all depends on how you work your tool.
  11. Lol, I was wondering the exact same thing !!!
  12. Ugh I know right! I've always had a hard time measuring my hips. Waist too cause I actually have one. I want to measure tummy since it's biggest part. Thanks for the idea, does it have left/right extremity??
  13. Does anyone know of a good app (for android) or a website that tracks body measurements (ie, left and right extremity, waist, hips, etc.)
  14. You all are very right. Thank you for all the positive thoughts and encouragement. I will make the most of my new lease on life.
  15. Do you start your preop diet aug 9th too?
  16. Yes that's exactly what I'm hoping to do. Congrats on your loss! That's awesome
  17. I have my surgery date set (Aug 25th) so my journey will begin soon, but as i look at everyones weight loss success i cant help being mad at myself for getting to this size. I hovered around 270's for YEARS. I thought that was huge and then in the last 2 years i shot up to 360. I cant believe i let myself gain that much, I always thought it would be impossible to lose 100+lbs so i got fed up with dieting and feeling guilty for every bite i took and let myself indulge. 5lbs turned into 10lbs which quickly turned into 100lbs! Now i have 200+ lbs to lose and id give anything to only have to lose 100lbs!! I am so mad at myself for that. Sorry for the rant, but i had to get that off my chest. Now hopefully I can forgive myself and move on.
  18. I sucked it up and had my hubby take my before pics. I thought id die of embaressment (I know he knows what I look like but I hate pointing out how fat I am) but he was great about it. My two y/o son even helped! He used my phone (while hubby used his own) and we played fashion show. Amazingly my son took great pics!
  19. Oh is the FB group secret? I don't want everyone on my FB to know I'm getting surgery
  20. Actually I have a ton of things to get. I'm horrible with procrastination. I still need to get the Protein powder, Vitamins, Probiotics, clean my house from top to bottom, and send in some paperwork to work. On the bright side I have until Aug 25th to do it all.
  21. Ahha! That makes alot of sense. My surgeon didn't say anything about exercising my lungs which would probably be smart since I have asthma. I think I'll try that as well. At least if I have a house full of balloons I can blame it on my son
