  1. Read lables, measure your food and get the Myfitnesspal app and track everything you eat. Good luck!
  2. I'm packing, clothes, socks, pillow (hate the ones there), hair brush and hair ties, iPad (loaded with movies) and ear buds, chargers, and that's it! So excited!!!
  3. Oh no! That must have been miserable. I skip mine so it was kinda ironic that I got it anyways and it's hanging on (spotting but still annoying)
  4. GummyTummy Great suggestions! I've already bought my night outfits for the hospital stay but now that i think of it im not sure i got pj pants! That's very unlike me. Ill be sure to remember to get those so my hubby doesn't have to run around afterward. Why big parachute size tho?I will keep the pain med thing in mind. I'd probably try to tough it out.
  5. I havnt had my surgery yet (Monday yay) but my husband has been incredible and is dieting alot with me. He's even excites about it.
  6. Brians 34 - was this RIGHT out of surgery (like first day- 2 weeks), or just in general?
  7. see, this is exactly what i need to know. When i hear walk walk walk im thinking i should do laps around the hospital, not the nurses station lol. Im glad I asked ! Thanks
  8. So I've heard a lot of people advising that as soon as you wake up from surgery you need to walk walk walk. I think that's great advice and fully plan on doing just that because i really really want to succeed. BUT I kinda have an obsessive personality (with goals and projects) and in the past I've been known to do TOO much. This is where i always fail because i over do it, injure myself and have to stop. So, how much is too little and how much is too much (how long & how often did you walk)? I really want to succeed at this so i need some guidelines. I know everyone is different so obviously someone with chronic injuries cant do as much as another person without them, i just would like to know in general what others have done and their experience. Im 28, and except for asthma, knee pain, and a tendency to get sick alot, i have no troubles with walking. I can walk as much as my little obese body will allow, so whats smart after a major surgery?
  9. Good to know. Of course being big thats always my biggest fear. luckily things are slowing down (probably stress related which is releived by all of you, thank you!) so hopefully it wont be needed.
  10. Yay that's so exciting. Good luck!
  11. Whew! that's a relief!! Thanks for the reassurance. I just want to make sure they have no excuse to reschedule lol
  12. Will they still do the surgery if you’re menstruating?? Normally I change out my BC (ring) every 3 weeks so I skip my period (horrible cramps/cysts) but this month I totally spaced and started on the 17th. I quickly replaced it so it would stop but my body seems to be stubborn and hasn’t yet. My surgery is on Monday (YAY), so if it doesn’t stop by then will they cancel? I can’t think of any logical reason why they would, but I’m so afraid of getting the surgery canceled.
  13. Lmao!!! Great cautionary tale, I'll keep this in mind.
  14. Thanks for the input, I'll keep all this in mind
  15. Yes! That explains me exactly. For once I'm thinking of myself. It's really hard to do. I find myself feeling guilty because my boss will be lost without me, or because I'm telling my hubby no on things he wants cause every penny goes to my surgery fund, or because my mom is really sick and I should be helping her. But I think for all the times we've been selfless we really deserve this!
  16. Ok i can see how you can get that math but high protein foods tend to be higher in fat and I go for the leanest i can get. I use the Myfitnesspal app to track everything I eat. So for example I eat 4oz hamburger Patti (93% lean beef with nothing added). That's 170 calories and 23g of protein. According to your math 23×4=92 so that would mean 78 from fat? I know chicken is lower in fat and I do eat alot of that but everyone can't possibly eat chicken for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner only??
  17. I’m not sleeved yet but im on the pre-op diet and its raised a few questions for me… I’ve heard plenty of people say they average 500-800 calories a day. How are you able to do that and still be able to get in the required 80g of Protein? I’m on a high protein / low carb diet and ive essentially found that if I want to avoid going over the required 30g of carbs then I have to eat protein only foods . So that’s pretty much all I eat and im getting my required 80g of protein, BUT averaging about 1200-1600. Im confused (and slightly panicking)
  18. Ive been terrified that i wont shrink my liver and my surgery will get denied. I just feel like im eating SO much but with little satisfication. I decided to weigh myself today. I figured if i even lost 1 pound id give myself a break (ie not freak myself out). What i saw on the scale astounded me. I not only lost 1 pound, i lost THIRTEEN!! I went from 360 to 347. I nearly cried. Carbs dont seem so important when seeing numbers like that
  19. Wow well good for you. Sounds like your doing great on it
  20. I got a 5 lb tub from amazon. They have free shipping for it on orders over $35. And I got the amazon prime so I got the two days shipping
