raychel74 got a reaction from beltran2000 in Does everyone experience hairloss?
I started losing tons of hair 4 months in. I took my Biotin & Vitamins religiously. I don't know what it is that causes it but it sucks bad & scares the crap out of you. The good news is it does stop and it does grow back. Mine went on for about a month and some change and boy am I glad it stopped. I started taking the It Works vitamins and that seem to have helped. I see lots of new growth so I'm hoping the worst is over. Hope that helps

I'm happy to say I'm 8 weeks out and down 35lb. I'm finally at a point where my co- workers who see me daily are noticing. Yesterday I wore a brand new dress ( size 18- down from 22) and EVERYONE had something to say. All good of course. It's amazing what wearing cloths in the right size instead of your old baggies can do I'm so excited for this journey! I wish I would have done it sooner!

I ate a slider and 2 fries and it felt like I ate 2 double doubles from in and out. My little friend was in town and was really craving a burger. I eat really well and exercise regularly so I'm not going to stress about a craving here and there, especially since I don't have them very often.

raychel74 got a reaction from swimbikerun in How do you get 70gm of protein without shakes
My go to meals are tuna salad w/ cottage for lunch, Protein shake for bfast & lunch meat, cottage cheese tacos. I personally loved all these things before my sleeve so now it's even easier. When I crave hot food ( not often cause I was always a salad girl) I order a taco and eat the inside only with a side of Beans. Meatballs are great too. I will even heat up lunch meat with a slice of cheese & it's like a melt without the bread. I also have eggs at all times of the day now.
    Good luck!

raychel74 got a reaction from brightlikeadiamond in Back to work :-(
I'm 6 weeks out and it seems like a million years ago since I was back to work for the first time. Trust me when I say that people aren't watching your every move, like it feels they are. I just told people I was doing a cleanse and hitting the reset button, that's why I was off coffee and having shakes. I got nothing but encouraging words. Now that I'm down 30lb and 6 weeks out, everyone just thinks it's because I've been dieting and watching what I eat ( which is the truth) EVERYBODY WINS!
Plus now is a great time because everyone is trying to get in shape for summer and so are you Good luck!

I am 4 weeks out & I stick to tuna salad with cottage cheese for lunch & a shake for Breakfast. I tend to do scrambler eggs & Beans for dinner & the only carbs I've had that didn't give me trouble was whole wheat crackers & polenta. I don't have either often but when I crave a crunch, soft wheat crackers are as far as I will go right now. bread & tortillas still scare me
    Good luck!

Sky Diving is big on the list! Feeling HOT again. Going for a ride on my bf's motorcycle - without being embarrassed. Breaking out of Moo Moo jail and wearing leggings because I want to, not because I have to. Wearing heels that aren't wedges. I could go on but I will just wait patiently and let it all happen. Only 2 weeks post op but I can already see changes

raychel74 got a reaction from amumes in 3 Days post op
    Hi Everyone,
I was sleeved on Monday the 14th. The first 3 days were ROUGH, the gas was Brutal. I had such a hard time even drinking Water, by day 4 it was much better. What saved me was cold V-8 splash. It was the only thing i could get down easily. I am way better. Now and feeling great. I do run out of steam around 4pm but just power through. The walking helps for sure. Good luck to all of you- IT GETS BETTER!
I'm down 15lbs from start of Protein diet (4/4/14) and can't wait to watch even more fall off!!

raychel74 got a reaction from GoldnGirl6677 in liquid diet day 3
Today was day 1 of all liquids and I'm surprised at how well I did. I had some growls but I would just have Water, but I found that chicken broth really helped. I lost my appetite last week when I got a cold and it saved me. Instead of headaches and caffeine withdrawals, I had cold symptoms. I figured it was a sign so I just started right in with the shakes and now I'm just use to it. Monday is Sleeve day and I can't wait!!!
    You can do it!!

raychel74 got a reaction from Carlotta1 in Can you have Medifast meals on your Pre-Op Diet?
I was curious about Medifast meals for variety. They are portioned, minimal carbs & only 100 cal. I have some left from my last failed attempted and thought it might be ok. It gets you to ketosis as well, just curious if anyone has incorporated it for variety. I figured it beats cheating.

raychel74 got a reaction from SpecialNewMe in What did you tell people at work?
Super Great topic! Funny enough, I'm usually an open book but for some reason I knew exactly who I would be telling and who I wouldn't, personal life and work. I only told my boss who I love and is very cool and one of my very good co- worker girlfriends. I feel weird sometimes because I am super close to 2 other guys at work that I share a lot with but I didn't tell them. I may tell them after but for now, it's fun having something of my own My advise would be to only tell people who you know will support you. That's all you need right now!

    Hi Everyone,
My name is Raychel and I am getting sleeved in Mexico ( Tijuana) mid April. My co- worker had it done there 7 months and couldn't be happier. She said the facility was clean, everyone was very comforting and sweet. They offer to pick you up at the SD airport and take you to the Marriott where you stay the first and last night. She also mentioned that going with them was better than driving because the can cross back faster using a special medical line. I feel grateful that I have someone to walk me through everything ( my co-worker) So I'm happy to share all the knowledge I have. I'm super excited and can't wait to start my journey!
