  5. Georgia...I have had migraines in the past as well...haven't had one in over 3 months...not sure if that is due to the surgery or not (although I had the band-not gastric sleeve), but rest assured that I personally feel it is because I am only eating 3 meals a day and eating healthier. have found a lot has changed since I have had my surgery. I start exercising in a couple days (cleared from doctor-health issues) as well and hoping that's gonna help me even more. and since you said you have to eat 3 times a day you are gonna do wonderful...faith dearheart!!! I am hoping this actually helps you out since I know how terribly they feel...they used to kick my butt...hang in there and I hope you start feeling better soon. take care Georgia (by the way love your name...LOL)
  6. hope you find someone really soon!!!

  11. I concur with Lisa and Mississippi Girl, SecretBander...let your relationship move to a point where you both feel that secrets can be shared. btw CONGRATS girl you are doing AWESOME!!!

I get to go see the physicial therapist tomorrow and start back at the pool and got my trike and can start to go for rides now as well (as soon as it stops raining...LOLRH)...but I am glad it's not all about food any longer. thanks for the happy message today...sure can feed off of it right now!!! take care!!!
  14. mommymaverick...I didn't have the option for the sleeve either the band or bypass, I watched a friend of mine with the bypass totally become so unhealthy her bones are all so weak she has to wear braces and use canes now. so that wasn't even an option for me...it was the band or nothing. I am not sure if I am doing this right or not, but I am down 40 lbs in less than 4 mths and just learning to be a bander each day...I am in what I call my WANT TOOS...I want to get healthy I want to eat slowly I want to lose weight I want to be able to look in a mirror and say guez girl you look pretty good. so all I can say to you if the sleeve is what you want to happen then I hope that-that works for you, but I am hoping they can trigger something in your band to make you Want Too start over again and not have to worry about another surgery!!! either way I wish you well and that things start working for you and that your happiness is achieved in whatever direction/path this WL life sends you. let us know how things are working for you...hope to see another post about this soon (after your Endo maybe-huh?)!!!
  15. Gardnergirl2...I hear a lot of negative covered up by WANT TOOS!!! That is what I call them...we all have a lot of bad things that have occurred in our lives and one of those things is eating to fill some sort of a void...then that void is filled with a lot of hate me's and wish I hadn't done those and got to get out of these ruts!!! as its been said here...the past is the past and you are rowing backwards on your new journey!!! you can't fix what was broke (your friendship-obviously), but you can fix YOU!!! that's where those WANT TOOs come into play. I want to eat healthier, I want to be more energetic, I want to have more time with my son, I want to look in the mirror and like what I see, I want to lose this weight and rub it in my doctor's face (ok that's a bit overboard), but I think you understand what I am saying!!! I am new at this, I am the last one that can boast about confidence...but these folks on these posts know there stuff and the one thing I have learned in these past 3 months is that I Want the Want Toos...and I know you do too!!! so let's want to get on with our journey and start moving up the creek in the right direction. YOU GOT THIS GIRL...NOW GET THE MOVE ON!!! Now where is that BIG SMILE? oops I see it now!!! have a great day sweetie...look forward to the NEW YOU post!!!
  16. be safe on your trip but have an absolute blast...remember to post pics and posts to let us all know you are having fun. You are very lucky...cuz I can't do steak...but I understand what you mean about eating on a meal for three days when I go out. have fun and congrats on your new life and slipping into it so nicely!!! You Go JustWatchMe-You Go!!!
  17. ddsweighin228, your incisions are normal, mine were really swollen and red for awhile...but was told that is normal. as for your port mine is in my left chest area and sometimes I can feel other times no...it was very sore for sometime though. I was told that its the same in the stomach area. my doctor told me he had actually sown my port into place so it didn't flip. I pray everyday that it doesn't and that my band is okay too. so it's normal. so glad you are on the other side now with all of us and know we are here for you. there are loads of great advisors on here to answer your questions. take care and let me know if you need anything.
  18. some very hateful people out there...I chose to think of them as those with problems...if someone finds out that I have had the lap band and they are negative people and I hear someone say anything negative I confront them and ask them and what's your problem? because I don't have a problem anymore I have a new journey to travel and you are not welcome on it! I have learned that no matter how old they may be-negative is not anything I need to be dealing with right now...I need to move forward. that maybe rude but my mother always told me to be honest and that's about as honest as I can get without being so rude...LOL!!! hang in there folks you all are marvelous folks and we are on this WLS journey all together...we will be here for each other since some in our lives are evil human beings!!! God bless.
  19. Carol you have three of the best offering advice to your right now...I so hope things are getting better for you...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as well. I am hoping you got to see your doctor again or maybe a dietitian...but I sure hope things settle down for you and you can get back to looking after YOU!!! I have two boys and one daughter that are all grown now, but still need me all the time-it seems, but they also know that I'm here for them if they need me. But I am looking out for my health right now...they do understand I need to do that now-before it's too late and they don't have me at all. So Carol...life has dealt you quite a lot of hot irons in your fire of late...but you sound like you can do this standing on your head (OMG-4 boys-LOL)!!! Know that there are plenty of us out here...I am a newbie compared to these three ladies...but I just know that if you start back from square one you can do this!!! Asking for help is not easy to do, but you managed...we are here for you. Take care and lets hear from you really soon, okay?
  20. mommymaverick...although I am quite new at this...I lost quite a lot of weight first thing out-eating about 800 calories a day...my body went into total starvation mode for about 4 weeks, after 2nd fill (no restriction at all) and a nut that told me I needed to eat 1200 calories a day...it started to move again...in the last 2 weeks I have lost 4 lbs again. not sure if that is what is happening to your body, but maybe you need to mix stuff up alittle bit...some call it shock your system...different exercise, different foods etc. not sure...but I am glad I am finally moving again...wishing you well and that things start moving for you too...take care!!! let us know what the new doctor tell ya...ok?
  21. I was thinking about getting a pressure cooker, they sound pretty neat...my mom also used one as I was growing up. I don't have trouble with meatloaf-those I eat are very moist...but could understand if it was dry how it would get stuck. I have major issues with steak of any kind and although I haven't had a hamburger yet...I do make taco's and sloppy joe's...but both are moisted with a sauce too. so hope everyone can find a way to eat what they like with ease. have a great day folks!!!
  22. MamaMama...like justwatchme said please don't get upset with yourself. I am almost 4 mths out and have only had 2 fills so far 3rd is scheduled for next week...I only have 3 ccs in now and have no restrictions and am hungry most of the time too. but I am forcing myself to eat only what is on my plate (they gave me a plate when I got my 2nd fill). still my weight is coming off really slow (am unable to exercise yet) so that isn't helping either. so please don't give up on it yet MamaMama even though this is the 2nd time around. try to be alittle bit more patient with your band and hopefully this time will be the charm...I sure am going to keep you in my thoughts!!! this is a new way of life and I know that I am not always honest with myself with what I am eating...so I am going to get back on track and hoping that I get some of this weight off that is what I paid for...we are all in this together so hang in there sweetie!!!
  23. Punkin6772 not sure what type of procedure you got...but that seems to be about the time frame most people take. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work on the following Wednesday-but if nausea wasn't my problem I probably would have been back on that Monday. you take as much time as you need...and Congrats on your surgery and welcome to WLS land!!! best wishes!!!
  24. lisaluvsgreys I am so sorry you are having so many problems with restrictions and will be praying for you that this will be the one that does it. I will be thinking of you today dearheart!!!
  25. CONGRATS to both of you...wow your doctors are pretty aggressive with your fills...on am on my 2nd one and only have 3 ccs now...but just so you know Nat1234 justwatchme is right...give it a couple of days on liquids and make some of them warm ones too...they always help the swelling. best wishes to both of you...it is so great to see you both up and on your feet now. keep us posted okay!!! welcome to our new journey ladies!!!
