  1. I am so scared about my first fill!! I'm glad that they numbed you first. I already have some lidacaine they prescribed for me....
  2. oooo... that is so cool! I didn't know there was a lapband conference... Do you know if there is a website that has some information on it??
  3. test. 1234... good luck samurais!!
  4. I'm so glad that you are alive!! I'm so sorry all of that happend! I hope you feel better soon!
  5. Did you you have a pre-authorization letter?? I'm a little worried... I have Great West and Cigna and G.W are now the same company... my husband used to work for Cigna and he knows how crappy they are... they are such an evil company... i could rant and rave!! Congrats though!
  6. Trust me, I feel your pain... I was told that I could choose either one too... the realize band website is amazing and it is sooo cool that you have all of that online support and weight tracking, you can also track your weight, food, etc on fitday.com which i discovered today.... I decided to go with the lapband... I guess I thought: 1: My doctor is very skilled with it, he's done and does more lapband 2. Both my parents had the lapband 3. It's been tried and true 4. I like that the band is more "structured" Of course, these are my opinions, but you will have to just really think about it and keep researching for your self. Best of luck to you!
  7. I will definitley... right now, I'm only 5 days post op and trying my best to get all of my protien in... it is really hard! I can't wait to go to solids!! yay!!
  8. Okay, so I got a lot of these test tube things... they have 42g of protien in each one... but they taste like the worst thing in the entire world!! :cursing: So... I've made them into Protien Jell-O! :crying: Just make sure the flavors match... I have orange and grape. Just make the jello according to the directions and add the "test tube" to the cold water you add to the jello... it is actually not bad! I haven't tried the grape yet.. it is chilling in the fridge right now, but the orange... Pretty good! Good luck all!!
  9. this one is mine!
  10. Omg, I totally understand what you are going through... I was just banded on the Sept 4 and the day i surgery, I had "extreme' nausea... they couldn't give me any more meds b/c they had nothing more to give. They told me to stop drinking the fluids for a little bit and that way, my stomach could relax... it helped... Hope you feel better!

I faced my most fear and my most want on Thurs, the 4th. I hate needles and it was really hard to go through it, but God gave me such a great peace and now I am on the road to recovery! Thanks to everyone who thought of me on Thursday! Good Luck to you all!

  13. I totally agree! You said it right girlfriend!
  14. You know... Everyone else has made this a BIG deal and I never thought that voicing MY OPINION would be taken so personally... I never insulted any individuals or Dr. K... my opinion was what it was... So I never even imagined that I would be putting my "energy" into defending myself. Everyone can make choices and you chose Dr.K... good for you... I choose Dr. S... that doesn't mean, I'm attacking anyone. I'm so excited about next week, that this is not gettin me "down" at all!! Good Luck with your success!
  15. Congrats on your great weight loss! I can't wait to really loose it too!
  16. CM Turner- I feel your pain! I know it is SOOOO Frustrating and everybody drags their feet... Just don't give up! They are counting on it!! Be Consistant!!
  17. my surgery date has changed three times... I'm guessing it may be normal after reading your post!
  18. Okay... You've got me! You're "on to me!" My goodness! I wasn't attacking you, so please don't take my criticism of Dr. K so personally. I'm glad you have had a great experience! The reason I was asking about Dr. K is that I was/am very worried. I'm not "out to get him" Maybe he was having a bad day that day...I wanted validation that he is a good/bad doctor... as for waiting a year to ask about him, I recently discovered this site again... I haven't logged in in about a year and didn't remember that particular post... I wasn't "bad" mouthing him... that was my personal and my husband's experience with him. And as far as me having to wait a year to actually be scheduled for my surgery. I have had some insurance difficutlies... so maybe you shouldn't just "type" things without not knowing the entire story. I wish you the best of luck with your progress.
  19. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time! I know how frustrating the whole insurance thing is... I had to "wrestle" my way into getting my insurance to pay.... First off, Get in with a PCP, preferably one that is Lapband "friendly" tell them the situation and your goals. At this point I would just start from scratch. I'm sure your insurance company has the standard dieting for six months thing... Just start it. Insurance companies will try anything to avoid paying for your surgery. It is really ridiculus! Call and talk to the insurance company's case manager/nurse and ask for ALL the specifics on what you will need to have the authorization coverage. Then do everything they ask. Mark each one off, follow it to a "T". The insurace companies are taking the chance that you will get so overwhelmed with all they require that you will give up, BUT Don't!! Just keep going! I started my "journey" last October and I am approved now with my insurance and will be having sugery next week. Just hang in there and be patient! It is so hard to do, when you know this is what you need and want. Good Luck and DON't GIVE UP!!
  20. Next thursday! September 4th! Good luck to my other september friends! We are going to get skinnified and healthy!!
  21. Congrats on the size 8!
  22. I had a consult with him. Didn't feel to "safe in his hands"... Did anyone else feel like this??
  23. Congrats! I can't wait for my banding!
  24. I have trouble after about 3 bites of anything--even flaky fish. My doctor assures me everything is just fine with the band. I have no problem with my esophagus, and I have NO fill in my band. Yet, I still have trouble eating. It is unpredictable. Lately, I even have trouble throwing it back up...so I stay in pain for several hours. Does this happen to anybody else? What do you do about it?
