Trying to figure it out
Not give up cooking but give up the reasons I do it.

Trying to figure it out
Growing up I did not have very great self esteem. I wasn't a fat kid but went through awkward stages. I felt like I was the ugly duckling growing up. My oldest sister is 5 years older than me and even though as a child she did have a weight problem I saw her as the Pretty one. We were close. She went into adult life with her weight problem until after her two children were born and then very unhealthily lost weight. I always feel like when a holiday rolls around my family is comparing everyone looking under a microscope at me. I have a great family and I love them but let's face it everyone's family is a bit disfunctional. I've lost weight in the past, a lot of weight, and absolutely loved the way I looked and felt. But I always come back to the same size again. I have been trying to figure it out. I really think I have an idea why I have part of my problem. I Love to cook. I'm good at it. But why do I love to cook? People love my food I make. I cook every holiday and for work and I get that praise I think I crave. Without it I disappear and I am the plain boring child in the family. Not my sister who has the looks and the talent. What will I have to offer without cooking for everyone all of the time? I've decided that I need to give that up and focus on me. I need to be happy and healthy for me. I have given up too much of myself through the years for others and ended up the unhappy one. I have a wonderful husband who says he loves me how I am now. But intimate moments are hard for me because of my weight I feel I look horrible and I can't be 100% comfortable and I feel I hold back on him. My feet hurt my back I have health issues and I know I look bad. This is why I am having surgery. I think I've discovered why and how I got here so maybe armed with this knowledge I can conquer this weight once and for all?

ANYONE UNDER 200 ON THE DAY OF SURGERY?
How exciting! You must be so happy to have a date for surgery and beginning your weight loss soon. July seems so far off for mine. I know it will come eventually but for now I feel so gross and wish I was losing.

pre op weight loss
I would like to take 5lbs off before the end of this month. If I drink protein shakes and drink water and eat low calorie soup for two weeks would that work? By my next appointment I would like to see the scale go down. I cannot drop below 205lbs or I won't get approved by my insurance.

Any july surgery dates?
My insurance requires 6 months wait too. I'm also due in July sometime. I am getting so excited I can hardly wait!

ANYONE UNDER 200 ON THE DAY OF SURGERY?
I am 5ft4" and go between 205lbs-to 214lbs. If I drop below 205lbs my insurance won't cover the surgery. I'm hoping that once I'm given the final thumbs up and a surgery date I can drop below 200lbs by my surgery date. My short term goal is to be at 150-160lbs by Christmas. And by my one year surgiversary date I would love to hit my goal of 125lbs. I cannot wait for surgery and to get the recovery behind me and get to work on being a healthier person. Next year I'd like to go on a cruise with my husband and look good in cute sun dresses and shorts and a suit. I will have the energy to do things with him too. I'm going crazy waiting for July. 6 months feels like forever.

Three Months Out - Before & After
These pictures make my waiting even harder! Nearly 3 months before my sleeve surgery and I am going crazy waiting. I cannot wait to tackle this weight loss and have my own success pictures! It's enough to make a person crazy! 6 months waiting. Watching everyone moving forward with their weight loss and trying to remain focused on my own journey. A friend/Co worker is 3 months in and nearly 50lbs down. Another Co worker is 18 months or and 156lbs down! I can't wait!

Mentor/ Buddy Needed
You can do this! Focus on the end result! I'm in the middle of my pre op 6 months wait. July is my surgery month. No room for failure. I'm all in. But if a slip up happens we have to get right back up and give it all we have! There's so many wonderful people on here sharing information no doctor could ever give us. They have had 1st hand experiences with all that we are currently going through and those yet to come! I'm on here what seems non stop trying to absorb all that I can. Good luck with your journey.

july I will be sleeved!
I know, you're right! My lowest was 135lbs. (The Halloween pic with my son just about 4 years ago) and the highest was 220lbs. I'm at 209lbs right now. I feel like a failure so bad. I want out of this body! Thank you, I hope surgery is a success in July too! How about you, where are you in your journey?

http://flipagram.com/f/Du6gnljHCm I want the thinner healthier ME back. It's so depressing to see how much I lost then gained then lost then gained back. I cannot wait for July to be sleeved and work hard to change me and end this cycle of yoyo weight!

Wow incredible. That is such a perfect song. The words strike so much emotion and hit home for us. You have done an incredible job staying focused and accomplishing fabulous results! ♡♡♡ how are you feeling? I'm due in July to be sleeved. I'm 5ft4" -and 210 today. I'm hoping to be 199 or under surgery day and by Christmas I would love to be at least 50lbs lighter. Any advice from you would be great. What to eat. Activities exercises. normal bmi
I am approximately 70lbs away from a normal bmi. I'm having surgery in July and I am at 207lbs. It goes up to 214 then down to 205. I'm hoping by surgery I can be at 199. Before the final weigh in and approval from insurance I cannot drop below 205 or I'll be under the 40bmi required for surgery. When I get my date for surgery I am going to be so excited. It still seems so far away. My ultimate goal would be to reach 125lbs. But I feel I start to look good about 140lbs. Here's to much success to everyone and to July hurrying up to get here already!

a little closer
Been waiting since late February. Jumping through numerous hoops to get to the beginning of my new life. So many emotions and thoughts. I've read everything asked everyone who's done it all of my questions and watched so many YouTube videos! A little bit left to go until July! Hope time flies because I am ready!

How long are you out now?

First thing you're gonna do when you reach goal
I hear ya. The simplest things that cause our bodies to ache because of the extra weight we carry will be awesome to be able to do when it doesn't hurt to do it anymore.
