  11. I had my one year follow-up appointment yesterday afternoon and could not be more pleased with the feedback I received and the results of my lab work! It's hard to believe it was slightly over a year ago that I embarked on the journey of WLS. I was and continue to be blessed by the support of my loving fiance who started his journey just 5 months earlier. Together we have lost over 250 lbs and have never felt better. I cannot wait for what the future has in store for us
  12. Hard to believe these pictures were taken one year apart! My boyfriend had gastric bypass on August 1, 2013 and I was sleeved on January 15, 2014. Combined we have lost over 220lbs! My boyfriend (6'0) - SW: 340 CW: 198 Me (5'3) - SW: 230 CW: 150

  14. That's assuming there's nothing else in the protein you are intaking... no fat, or carbohydrates that would increase the calorie count. A 4 ounce chicken breast has roughly 4 gms of fat and 35 gms of protein for approximately 176 calories. 4 ounces of 90/10 ground beef has about 13 gms of fat and 30 gms of protein which is about 237 calories. Assuming you eat nothing else but LEAN protein you could probably stay within the 600 calories. Start adding other Proteins such as nuts, cheese and different types of meat and you will easily go beyond the 600.
  15. 3.5 months out... SW: 229 CW: 167 62 lbs down, 38 to go!

  21. Premiere Protein is definitely my fave... you can buy it at costco or Sam's in an 18 pack for about $24, so it comes out to only a little more than a dollar per shake. They are pre-made which makes it super convenient. They come in chocolate and vanilla and I've heard rumors that Costco is supposed to start carrying them in Strawberries and Cream!
  22. Tomorrow's the big day! I think the nerves are starting to get to me a little bit. I just have to keep reminding myself to think of the long-term benefits and not the short-term pain. Glad I have my boyfriend by my side. He is 5 months post-RNY and has already lost over 100lbs. Such an inspiration!
