My surgery was done on March 11th, I am coming up on 3 months tomorrow and I have lost over 60 pounds. I am so thankful that I finally got this surgery done. I haven't had any real complications, a few times i have had heartburn or acid issues but that is nothing. I've gone from a size 24 to a size 14.

My sleeve was on 12 March 2014 (4wks) yeahhhhh. I'm a little sore berry every little. The only time I notice it is when I'm done jogging. My pre op weight 225.0, weight of surgery 219.6lbs, today I'm 194.6. That is 30.4 since pre op liquids and 25lbs since surgery. I started jogging a week ago. I could only do .25 miles before stoping I would walk the rest of my mile 1/2. Today I jogged 2 miles non stop!!! It's a damn good feeling !!!! I can't wait to see what the future holds. I am doing good with my Water. But getting my Protein in sucks!!! I'm making it my mission to do better though. I know I can be on solids now even though I haven't had my check up yet. But I like the mushy stage.

I had surgery on the 19th of March and was having a hard time with Protein then I found the New Whey Liquid Protein 3.8oz = 42g protein so now I get my protein with only 180 cal and 0 sugar

    Hi everyone,

Not sure how to get the quotes to work so will do it the old fashioned way..

@@Dondie Olivia About the food cravings vs hunger I had to think for the last week to decide what the heck I was feeling. It took me just over a week but I realize now that what I thought was hunger was really more like a craving. Food occupied a far too important part of my life and now I am working to make myself cognizant of the fact that I am really craving the food, the social part of eating with my family or eating out and not really hunger. I find that if I keep myself busy, eat my small meal (I am in the pureed phase so I only just added cream of wheat and cottage cheese with pears/peaches canned and blended) drink my shakes and sip my Soups I can pretty much function and not focus on food and instead focus on life. My sister who did this 10 years ago and is down 140 pounds still said she had to find something to replace food as her focus/interest. Hope this helps you.

@@JurneeOfOne: I had my surgery the very same day but I weigh much more than you. I don't know how you feel but I feel that it would be unwise of me to actually run, jump or jog with my stomach stitches/staples right now. My doctor said it really takes about 4-6 weeks for the stomach to heal and the staple line to solidify and I would not advise anyone to put any kind of impact on that line of sutures or staples until that time. Maybe you could speed walk instead of jog or use an eliptic or bike to get more cardio in. Ultimately it's your body and only you know how you feel so do your best but I can see why those who care for you don't want you to push too hard. You'd really hate it if you sprung a leak down there and had to reset your healing back to a new day one. At either rate good for you for walking so much, my doc did say walking was an excellent way to recover.

Weekend passing way too quick, happy shakes and soups to you all

I'd say, listen to your body. If you're sore, slow down, if no troubles, keep at it! Nobody knows better than you!! I'm impressed though!

Is it too soon to be at 800 cal a day??? I'm 2 week + 2 days post op. I keep thinking I should be at 400-500 still? I feel better at more but at a bit of a stall and I just don't want to push anything. I feel ready to start to exercise but I have some lightheadedness. Hard to get all my fluids in. Makes me so frustrated. Wow on running! I'm soooooo impressed! I want to run someday!

Just remember that it takes about 4 weeks for your muscles to heal. Be careful you do not give yourself a hernia. Walk faster rather than jog. You might even find you bury even more calories.

Had my sleeve 3/12/2014 I am 19 days post op. When I went for my 2 mile walk I decided to jog some if it. I jogged a quarter of a mile and walked the rest. Everyone seems to think I'm pushing myself to hard. Is it true and I'm just being hard headed?

Well I am pretty much positive I just invented the 6 day stall. Not joking. Six days after surgery I had lost a STUPID amount of weight... Like 19 lbs. and since then, not another pound. Regardless of the fact that I have only been eating about 500-600 calories of Water and Protein Shakes. Not one single more pound. And it's been four more days.
There is NO WAY my body isn't using these fat stores to keep everything going --- especially since I am only providing 500 calories a day and am trying to walk/move where possible.
So yep, I'm betting money I discovered the world's shortest six day stall.
Don't doubt yourself.... To not lose would defy physics. If you use more than you eat, you will lose --- eventually.
    Have faith.
