Everyone looks great and is so inspiring!
Although I think I look good compared to before, I just take awful pictures so I don't have any to post.
I just know for me at times I still struggle with wanting to wear baggy or draping tops to "hide" things. Although I still have a belly, there really is no need to wear baggy/draping tops. And it stinks sometimes because that's all there seems to be out there to buy.
I was a size 26 before now down 100 lbs to size 18 (340 plus down to 235). Need to get on the bandwagon and eat better and lose the remaining 50 or so.

I know it's hard to not be discouraged. Just continue to eat right and exercise as instructed. Things will get better!!
I am almost 7 months out. scale has barely moved in the last two months. But I am going to the gym and exercising. And I can see the differences in my clothes and my body so that's all that matters to me.

sue_t got a reaction from right for me? in Weight comes off here and there
    I know this is strange.....
Do you ever look in the mirror and think that I've lost weight here but not there? I guess I was thinking the weight would come off equally in all places.
For example, I can REALLY see a difference in my neck/shoulders/upper arms, but my lower arms are still chunky.
I am not complaining. I just think it's interesting and wondered if anyone else thought this.

    sue_t got a reaction from auntjanny in 4'11 180 lbs... Insurance/self pay combo ?
My insurance did not cover the surgery so I was a self pay. Although it sucked to have to pay for it, I feel like I have a more vested interest in my health because of it. Insurance dud pay for most of the pre-op tests and they paid for the hernia repair. I think I ended I ended up paying about 11,000 out of pocket.

There is nothing easy about any of this. I choose to only tell select people because I didn't want to hear that type of crap from people.
It's not EASY having surgery. It's not EASY to learn to eat healthy after not eating healthy all your life.
Tell those that you can trust and will be supportive in your journey. You are showing a lot of strength and courage to do this!!

Don't feel guilty about spending that money on yourself. Think of it this way...you will be spending a lot less on medical bills for health problems related to obesity once you have started losing weight. This is a health investment and an investment in your future. You are worth it. Good luck with your surgery and enjoy the process of getting healthy. In the long run you will come out ahead in the financial department.

I felt the same way. When you get on the loser's bench the guilt will dissipate because you will realize that this is worth EVERY penny and then some. I really beat myself up over the fact that I needed surgery to lose weight. Looking back, I wish I'd not been so hard on myself.

I'm on month five and where is was seeing a pound loss every other day a couple months ago... I'm seeing maybe 2 lbs a week. I was feeling discouraged with the lull so I decided to make a side by side and it was the mental boost I needed. I'm excited to start exercising more and hope that it will pick up a little more. Sometimes reflecting on where you came from is the encouragement you need.
