I'm 3 weeks post gastric sleeve, so am reliant on Protein Shakes. I've just found an incredible deal and had to check to see if it was a mistake, but it's not. Amazon has MET-Rx Protein Plus RTD 51, 15 Ounce (Pack of 12 for 3.99 and 4.99 shipping)! These are normally around $42 because they have 51 grams of protein! Plus they taste pretty good!

Not sure if your aware, but another thread the other day touched on getting Protein shakes thru Insure Nutrition and they may be paid by your insurance. You can to go thier website and fill out an application with your prescription insurance information, that's it, they do the rest. They will contact your insurance to check coverage, if your covered, they send a scrip to your surgeon for signature and then fill said scrip. From there they send you the Protein Shakes for the next 7 months automatically. After that you can reapply. All of this at no cost to you if your approved. I struggled with nausea weeks 3 and 4. I had run out of my prescription strength liquid antacid and tried an over the counter liquid antacid (Galviscon). It didn't work. The nausea stopped when I switched to Prilosec 2X per day (morning and night) in pill form. I hadn't tried the pill before because I was worried about swallowing one but I finally got desperate enough to try and it worked.

I think nausea is fairly common. Your stomach is healing and has a huge incision, if your dr. didn't give you a scrip for Prilosec or another PPI, call and ask. If you are already on a PPI, mention the nausea to your dr., he may give you something else.
