Hi 4jin Sorry it took me so long to reply. I had to fly to Tampa for a business meeting. My BMI is 46 and my co morbidities are asthma and high blood pressure. I attended Dr. Edward Lin's seminar in August and chose him as my surgeon. I have my preop appointments next week, so hopefully i will get my date then. I live in the Buckhead area. What part of Atlanta are you? Good luck with everything.

Yes, mine is PPO. I went on a cruise right after it was submitted so atleast my mine was elsewhere LOL!!! I was actually approved in a week but didn't get the new until that date. I agree the waiting is the worst part.

Hi Kathy. Welcome to the site and also welcome to GA. I am not too far from you. I live in Buckhead/Brookhaven area. This site is very informational and there are alot of great and supportive people on here. I was just approved by insurance on Friday, so next week, I start my pre-surgery testing. I will be banded at Emory by Dr. Edward Lin. Still trying to debate on whether i want to wait til December and enjoy my mother-in-laws great Thanksgiving feast or just take the first available date. You mentioned you were looking for a job, what do you do?

I got the call today that i have been APPROVED. My weekend is already off to a great start. Now i can exhale.

Well Erica, let me be the first to say welcome. I cant give you any advice being that i am waiting to be banded, but i can tell you that this forum is very informational. I am now very prepared for what lies ahead and I owe it all to this site. Good Luck

Hi, If you are speaking of Dr. Edward Lin at Emory, he is awesome. I am hoping to be banded by him this month or next month. I met him in April and since then we have spoke often. He is very supportive and his listens to you. Unlike other surgeons who just tell you what they want you to know. I have had 2 consults with him and left feeling like i was making the best decision i will ever make in my life. Just waiting on BCBS to approve me and I hopefully i will be banded soon.
