Stick with wawa, they have meat and cheese cups, hummus, meatballs, etc.
  4. Personally, I strive to be one of those perfect eaters. I'm only 5 weeks out so it's all still new to me. I know I won't be perfect but that's my goal. My thinking is what I've done up to this point in my life isn't working. I didn't put my body through these drastic measures to keep abusing it. For me it's important to be accountable and aware of what I'm eating so I faithfully log everything, that's what works for me. I certainly don't pass judgement on others, but I'm certainly going to try my hardest to stay away from those trigger foods, I've had enough of that junk to last a lifetime.
  5. I'm 4 weeks out too. What kind of soup are we talking about? I cant get down a cup and a 1/2 of anything. Broth, I could probably get down 3/4 cups max. I usually stop at half. Thicker creamier soups I can do 1/4 cup
  6. Syntrax nectars are my favorite powders. Muscle milk strawberries and cream is my favorite rtd shakes.

    New to the game!

I had surgery 3/17 too, I've lost 21lbs and the scale hasn't moved in 5 days. That's ok, it's normal. Just keep following your plan and you'll keep losing. Your body just needs a break to catch up. Expect this to happen throughout your journey.
  8. I took pills starting on day 2 as well with no problem

    Day 3 and so uncomfortable!

This really is the worst of it. I think most people have buyers remorse the first few days. You'll be surprised how quickly you're feeling better in the next day or 2. I struggled eating and getting fluids in, but each day I made more and more progress. By a week out I was feeling much much better. Good luck! I'm 4 weeks post op and I still have days where I can't get my fluids and protein in, but those days are happening less and less.
  11. I'm averaging between 500-600 calories a day

    I'm in the medical field.

Does that mean you're in the heavenly field?
  13. Took me about a week after surgery to see movement. After all the gas and fluids they pumped in me at the hospital it took awhile for it to leave my system

    Had pancakes for breakfast

I made banana protein pancakes today. 1 banana, 2 eggs, 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein, a pinch of cinnamon. It was pretty good.

    Insurance question/issue

Honestly if my biggest obstacle was the surgeons office I'd find another dr. My surgeon's practice was on the ball. They were fully aware of what criteria was needed by multiple insurance companies. They coordinated my nutritionist visits and psych eval. Everything went smooth. My first appointment was dec 18, my surgery was March 17 (my ins had a 3 month medically supervised diet requirement)
  17. I wish you luck, it was very difficult to tell my husband too. He's a worrier and I knew he wouldn't be supportive. I did tell him after my info session with my surgeon, just as I suspected he was very concerned and wasn't too happy about it. After about a month we had a real long conversation about the procedure and he realized how much research and thought I'd put into it, he realized it wasn't just about vanity it was about being healthy. After our heart to heart he's been my biggest supporter, he even started eating healthier and losing weight together. I hope you and your husband can go through this together, you're going to need all the support you can get.
  18. Is it a copay or deductible. I'd double check with your insurance company. Both the dr and hospital will bill separately so it's not unusual to owe money to both providers. Do yourself a favor and find out exactly what your benefit is so you don't have any surprises.

    Stalling

How many calories are you consuming? Can you give us an idea of what you're eating and drinking
  21. You need to tell him as soon as possible considering you've already made the commitment and put money down. I'm sure he's going to take it even harder since you did everything without discussing it. I'd highly recommend you find a marriage counselor asap. You have some major communication issues. Sorry to be so blunt, but I'd be so heartbroken if my hubby didn't trust me enough to share something so big and life altering
  22. Happens to me too, hopefully it gets better. I'm 3 weeks out
  23. Call your insurance and see what their requirements are. I have no co morbidities but my bmi was 41 and they covered mine. If I had at least 2 comorbidities they'd cover with a bmi of 35. Every insurance can be different so your best bet is getting it straight from the horse's mouth. Also some insurances will require you to go to a center of excellence in their network so make sure the dr and hospital are covered under your plan. Get all this info now and save yourself frustration later. Also if you feel like your dr office isn't communicating well it's ok to find a new dr, your medically supervised weight loss visits are documented and can transfer over.
  24. Great ideas! Thanks for putting together the Google doc

    Multivitamins

I'm taking centrum fruit chewables, I can tolerate them. When you first bite into them they taste like a skittle. The after taste is a little blah, but drinking water or eating something right after takes care of it. I can't tolerate my vitamin c chewables those make me throw up.
