No......I'm not a snob! Just technologically challenged...friends list
Doesn't necessarily make a difference however some people for whatever reasons click with different people and choose to converse with them more frequently and go to their friends list to reach them or privately speak with them. Some people have chosen to use this tool on here. If there is no purpose for it I would think it wouldn't be on the forum at all. My post was directed at those who chose to use this feature and had requested me to their friends list. My feeling is that they somehow connected with me. Since my motivation in being here is to support and help and to receive the same, I wanted to make sure they still had access to me through this feature and that I had not removed them purposely.

No......I'm not a snob! Just technologically challenged...friends list
I think I inadvertently removed my friends from friends list because you are all suddenly gone! I think I thought I had to approve some of you and clicked on the remove icon! Sorry!!! I'm really not a snob lol! Friend me again if you'd like or I will try to add you again :-)

Pre-op smeop
I'm here with all of you! Day 3 of preop liquid diet and...cheated on the 10 little tiny oyster crackers that were left in the cupboard. Yep...counted every one of them. Probably not the end of the world however, I realize the importance of not having things in the house for me to go to and keeping myself busy. Nighttime, t.v. time is the worst for me. Have to start creating a new normal.

What I let grief do to me.
I will concur with others; this is definately the easy way out! I was not going to tell anyone except my boyfriend. Then I decided that I would tell my parents. I was nervous, thought that they would tell me, "You just need to stop eating the wrong stuff etc" After I told them it was a tool and I needed it to help me stop overeating they understood and have been very supportive. I told them that I wish my sister (who struggles with alcoholism) had a physical tool such as this to give her a headstart. I think they realize that my food addiction is as real as my sisters alcoholism and that I am going to do whatever necessary to abolish it! I say all this to say, don't let fear or shame keep you from sharing your decision. You may be surprised at how supportive they would/will be about your decision. I am glad that I took the risk/chance and shared it with my parents. I know my boyfriend feels better about it too (didn't want to be my only source of support). Whatever you decide, best of luck and congratulations on your decision to become the best you you can be!!

Greek Yogurt Brands
You can get the Torani syrups at most grocery stores (ie. Cub foods, Rainbow, Trader Joes) at least in Minnesota :-)
-
Greek Yogurt Brands
The sugar free syrups are a great idea to put into plain yogurt and get a bit more protein in...thanks~!

Greek Yogurt Brands

Gallbladder removed
My surgeon told me that the percentage of people that lose a large amount of weight usually have their gallbladder out at some point...usually by 6 months after surgery or so. Because the risk is high for this happening, I'm having mine out at the same time as I am sleeved. Kill two birds with one stone having one recovery period. Surgeon said that he foresees in the not too distant future that this will become a part of the procedure because of the high rate of incident of it occuring after the procedure.

TWO DAYS POST OP AND ALL IS WELL!
I know for me my Nut said that 100% apple and cranberry juice with no added sugar was fine during the first week or so after surgery since I won't be having any real protein per se in the clear liquid phase. She said they want to get some calories in us :-) For me the juices leave when I can introduce protein shakes again. Besides, with the amount we can drink I can't believe I will be consuming too many calories to worry about.

Greek Yogurt Brands
Hi! I know I've seen this thread somewhere but can't find it now (not even in the nutrition search). Anyway, I'm wondering what you look for in nutritional value for the Greek Yogurts. How many sugars do you try and stay at. I have eaten Chobain in the past but it's extrememly high in sugar. I saw a Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt today at the store. The nutritional value was 80 cal. 0 fat 8gr. carbs 7 sugars and 12 gr. Protein. for a 5.3 ounce cup. What do you all think? Thanks so much!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?
Ok.....only day 2 of pre-op diet. Supposed to drink 5-6 Protein shakes and then only sugar free popsicles, Jello, pudding, Water and sugar free drinks. I am already having trouble drinking that many shakes! Good thing I won't have to drink that many post op (hoping that premiere protein shakes with 30 grams protein will do the trick...will only need to drink 2 of them to get in protein!) Other than feeling like I want to chew my arm off it's going great!! Keep going May 20th sleevers WE CAN DO THIS!!!

May 20th sleever here. multivitamin?
I was told to take 2 chewables. I do not start calcium and others if needed until after surgery. They will tell me at the post op appointment.

Selfish?
I am sorry for your loss :-( Losing a parent (or anyone) is a hard thing. Grief is necessary yet there is no timetable on the stages of grief. I'm not sure waiting 2 months would make a difference. I think you are able to be a support at anytime. So, my thought is....not selfish.

May 20th sleever here. multivitamin?
I was recommended by my nutritionist Flinstones or the Generic brand of them CHEWABLE (not the gummy). More than likely because there aren't many "adult" chewable Multivitamins out there.

Overeating before surgery
This past week I ate all of the things I knew I wasn't going to be eating for a long time; if ever again. Today, the first day of pre-op diet I realize how much "food" is apart of my life simply out of habit! Routines....get in the car, go to Kwik Trip, get a coffee and donut etc. etc. I found myself doing that routine this morning and saying outloud to myself, "What are you doing here?" Made me realize that my habits and routines surrounding food are getting ready to be FOREVER changed!! I knew it intellectually but I FELT it today. I know this is what I need and want and am ready to do. However, I have to remind myself that this will be a process. If it took me 51 years to create these habits and routines I have to give myself permission to learn something new and not expect it to happen overnight. For perfectionists (like myself) that's a hard thing to do. We can do this! We deserve this!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?
Went and bought my Protein shakes for pre-op diet that starts on Saturday. 5-6 shakes a day and then sugar free drinks, popsicles, Jello. I have to say that I'm feeling anxious. I think it's finally sinking in....Saturday is the day that my "New Normal" really begins. I realize that I really cannot know what to expect, how it will go, emotions and feelings until I'm there and present in those moments. The only thing I really know NOW is that I have made this comittment to change. That will need to be enough for now along with knowing that I can rely on the peace that surpasses all understanding, and the knowledge that I CAN do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me! Ready....set.....go! Almost to the Land of Oz!!

Hair pulling
This is often brought on by stress and anxiety which I can assume are things we will all deal with after a procedure like this! Drastic changes occurring. You may want to talk with your doctor and/ or-therapist about this to get some guidance.
