  1. My weight loss has been incredibly slow even though I only take in 7 to 800 calories a day and do water aerobics most days of the week. Surgery date was 7/14 and started at 389 and now at 364. Met with the nutritionist and she feels I'm right in track and that 8 to 10lbs a month is normal. I'm trying not to be a negative Nancy and didn't want to drop too quickly but did think I would at least lose a bit faster than this at first. I feel like my metabolism has probably slowed to accommodate the fewer calories and that my body has moved into starvation mode. Anyway trying not to overthink it or compare my journey to others but it's hard not to when I read that people are half way to goal etc after just a few months it makes me wonder what's wrong with me?
  2. Thanks Dave I did click on the green circle but it didn't give me a galleries option just a "see all threads started by this user etc. I'm still learning this site. Not as user friendly as it could be. I'll keep trying I would love to see your inspirational pics!
  3. How do I see the pics? I couldn't find anything
  4. Thanks Sophie I so appreciate that!!
  5. Thanks Vicky and Jenn I really appreciate your kind words. Vicky I hope your stall ends soon and Jenn your doc should've been all kinds of super supportive. You're doing incredible!!
  6. Wow Jenn you're doing incredible. 2 weeks post op I lost 15lbs and it took me a week to lose the 10 I gained in the hospital with all the fluids. Doc said the expectation is 5 to 15% so I was on the low side with 6%. I was thrilled as I basically had lost a pound a day but doc was so negative I ended up leaving the appointment so discouraged but not going to let it sabotage my success. You're an inspiration!
  7. Awesome Golden Girl, good for you!!! Congrats on your great success!!!
  8. Yea Chanelle! That's fantastic!! Way to rock your sleeve girl! I just had surgery July 14th and I hope I can say the same as you in a few months. Any tips to making it work?
  9. I'd never had surgery either so I was quite nervous as well but it all went very well and I'm certain yours will too. The best to you and your brother. How wonderful that you can support one another on this journey.
  10. Best of luck to you and congrats on your decision. I'm not close to retirement but I am 50 years old and have a desire to travel and do other things my current weight restricts me from doing. Here's to us living the second half of our lives to the fullest. Cheers!
  11. All the best Jenn, you'll do great! I'm on my second week of liquids, had surgery 7/14.
  12. It's been okay dreamgirl. There have been days when I was certain it was true hunger based on stomach gases etc. I didn't expect that. The only problem I've had is getting really tired of the sweet options in the liquid phase. You will definitely crave something savory so be sure to have your Campbell's 98% fat free soup choices on hand (strain if need be) and your chicken broth. Otherwise everything is going well. I just tell myself this part is temporary and I can do anything for a short time. ????
  13. Hi everyone, had my sleeve surgery July 14th. Home now and almost through the first week of liquid diet. So far so good. Word of warning that I haven't heard people talk about. Be prepared for a post op weight gain only because they pump you full of fluids in the hospital and your body is swollen. I'm still trying to get rid of all the fluids my body is holding, 10lbs of it. I'm not worried I know my weight will drop back down I was just a bit alarmed and wanted to share so others knew that this is normal and temporary. Best of luck to everyone!
  14. Cathy it's possible my surgery dec 10 2013 Start weigh 454 surgery weight 438 current weight 315 down 139 in 7 months!! Just rock your sleeve don't let it control you!! If u eat something u know u shouldn't don't beat urself up a bite won't kill you don't feel your a failure Because ur not! That's only my opinion and my advise people please don't attack me lol Thanks Chanelle! Excellent advice! And congrats on your awesome achievement!!
