I'm on Medicare Complete. Does anyone know if they cover protein drinks? If not, who would I ask? My nut? Or surgeon? My personal doctor?

Do your feet get smaller with weight loss? I am 5'3" and wear a size 11 wide width shoe. I don't want to get little and have huge feet Lol!

Im glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it's harder at night. I used to be able to go all day without eating and then at night I would stuff my face! Not good, I'm glad this surgery will be a helpful tool to teach me when and how to eat.

I'm on day 8 of my 2 week all liquid diet.

My stay is suppose to be 2 nights as long as there are no complications.

I am on day 8 of my liquid diet. It really hasn't been as awful as I thought it would be. When you are hungry drink! Drink lots of Water! Drink anything CLEAR! Really, stay busy! Clean, work out, anything that keeps your mind busy, DO IT! When you start getting hungry remind yourself why you're doing it to begin with. I figure if I can't do 2 weeks pre op of all liquid diet then maybe I'm not ready, but I AM READY! Ready to be healthy and off all of the meds I've been having to take for YEARS! I'll take Vitamins over drugs any day! Plus I want to know how it feels to be smaller and I want to know what I look like underneath all of this fat. I really, truly believe that in the end it's all going to be worth it, as I've heard so many people say. Also, I remind myself that one day I will be able to eat actual food again and it will be my responsibility to eat healthy and to exercise so I won't end up right back where I am now. I never want to go back! I want to keep pressing forward! You CAN do this and you and I will be so proud of ourselves after we've done it. Another goal down! We got this girl! Me too! I didn't think i would be able to handle or but it's pretty easy so far. I wonder if week 2 will be harder?Today was day 6 for me. I have to be on a 2 week all clear liquid diet. My surgery is April 7th. Good luck with your journey!

Smoking marijuana? I was straight with my doctor as I always am. No secrets between me and my surgeon. I have decided to stop smoking marijuana until after surgery and I am healed. I'm still trying to figure out if smoking weed causes ulcers. Wiki answers says yes but other pages say it helps with ulcers so idk. It will also be important to manage your munchies after smoking. Don't over il indulge and get sick and/or stretch your pouch. I think it best to be as honest as can be with your doctor, after all, He's operating on you and needs to know everything! I'll be more nervous as it gets closer. Right now I'm just concerned if I'm totally ready for this huge change. I'm a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm just going to sit back and try to enjoy the ride :-)

I'm taking muscle milk from Walmart in powder form. It has 30mg per scoop. I drink Water, flavored water, broth, tomato Soup, sugar free Jello and pudding. If I feel like I'm "starving" I can have a serving of cream of wheat.

I don't know what optifast is, so no I am not on it. Lol

My diarhea started on day 2.

I was told if my liver was not small enough when I was cut open the Dr. would not operate on me. So I'm kind of in your shoes. I've not had anything solid but I've consumed a few slushes. I have heard that is not good because they are full of sugar and sugar keeps the liver large. I've also had regular pudding. Ugh! So I still have 9 days to go and praying by then my liver is plenty small. I'd be honest with my doctor. Good luck!

I am on day 5 of my 2 week liquid diet. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. My advice is to try and stay busy. Keep your mind busy also. The worst part for me is the diarhea. I didn't know that was part of the all liquid diet. It sucks!

My surgery is April 7th. Anyone else joining me for surgery that day? 4/7/2014! That's my big day! So excited for a new beginning and a healthier me! I'm currently on day 5 of my liquid diet. Is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part foot me is the diarhea. I had no idea everything I drank would go right through me. Is this common for everyone else as well?
