  1. Wow!! Congrats on your weight loss!!
  2. I only weigh once a week. I'm not obsessed with the scale. If I weighed everyday I would go nuts! I am in the process of moving and have packed my scale and won't be weighed until i go see my doctor again May 15th. I'm praying by them I have lost at least 5 pounds!
  3. ~sigh~ I just feel like if I cant even lose weight with 80-85% of my stomach cut out, how huge of a failure I will be. I've been overweight since I was about 8 years old and have never seen myself "thin". I want to see what I look like thin at least once before I die. When I started this whole process with my doctor I weighed 332, then 330 at my post op appt. now I'm at 300 lbs. I guess 30 pounds over the last 5 weeks is pretty good. Thanks for all the advice and support. I sure need it.
  4. I'm 3 weeks post op today and I only weigh myself weekly, every Monday. Last week the scale read 299.8 and this week it reads 300.2! My doctor says she expects me to lose 1-2 pounds a week! WTH! I feel like this whole surgery is BS and quite frankly I'm pissed off and I want my stomach back! I hardly eat anything and I work out for at least 45 minutes 3-5 days a week!! That's another thing, I keep reading people say "oh my goodness I can only eat a 1/2 a cup of this or 1 cup of that", I can eat a whole serving of cream of wheat which is 3 TBS and 1 1/4 cups no fat milk! plus I add another 1/4 to thin it out more! I can also eat a whole can of Soup with a can of broth mixed in with it! I'm starting to think my doctor either left my stomach too big or didn't take any of it out to begin with! I get 1000-1200 calories a day which is a huge cut from my 3000+ calories before surgery. I don't understand why I'm not losing but gaining! I go back to my doctor on the 15th of May and if I haven't lost at least 4 pounds and she gives me shit, I swear I'm going to flip out! I'm doing everything I am suppose to and NOTHING after only 3 weeks!? This is total crap! If you can offer any words of wisdom, please do. Sorry for the rant but I am very discouraged and pissed off! Thank you, Purple P.S. I should also mention I am in the puree stage of my diet and rarely eat anything pureed. I'm still mostly liquids.
  5. What does "slider food" mean ?
  6. Are we ever aloud to eat popcorn again? I thought I read somewhere no popcorn for VSG patients. If so, why not?
  7. I only have 4 incisions. Just leave your owies alone. My doctor said not to use neosporin because it can actually trap bacteria in. Just wash over lightly with antibacterial soap and dab them dry softly :-)
  8. I have it in my feet due to diabetes. I hope it goes away with weight loss. They usually started hurting when I would eat to much sugar/carbs. I hate it!
  9. I got very full on a thick cheese soup and protein drink that it hurt to take a deep breath. I was very scared. It didn't hit me at first then all of a sudden my stomach was stuffed! It made me anxious because my Dr warned me not to over eat or my stomach would burst!
  10. I drink like a camel. I'm so thankful I can still drink plenty of fluids with no problems. I'm praying when I start solids I fill up with very little.
  11. For me acid reflux feels like fire in my chest and throat. I usually take prilosec but my dr has me on pepsid for my first month post op. I'll be glad to get back on my prilosec. Pepcid works but not as long as prilosec. Heart burn should be taken care of ASAP. Other problems can arise from it.
  12. Thanks for sharing! I'll have to look into that ASAP! :-)
  13. I think my Dr. is going to make me wait 4-6 weeks before taking my pills whole rather then crushed. Yuck!
  14. I went over a week with no bowel movement after surgery and was freaking out. My doctor said it was typical while on the all liquid diet but i could take MoM or Miralax.
  15. I think it's normal to hurt a little. Even before the surgery when I was really hungry and my tummy growled it would hurt a little. If it hurts really bad and is a concern call your surgeons office. But yes, to answer your question it is uncomfortable when my new tummy is empty and growls.
  16. Did you use anything on them like neosporin or t.a.o? My Dr. said not to use them because it actually traps bacteria in the sore.
  17. Height 5'3" Current weight: 299 Weight by Memorial Day: 285 14 pounds total =) Let's do this!! Surgery date was 4/7/2014
  18. TYVM elfnow =) I post my weight and what I think I will lose by memorial day? how do I delete posts I have posted?
  19. I'd like to be a part of this challenge. Is there somewhere I have to go to enter my name and stats? Someone please help! I'm fairly new to this site and this would be my first challenge. Thanks to all who help! God Bless =)
  20. Today I started my purée diet. I had 1/4 cup (1 egg) scrambled egg. From what I've been told I thought I would feel very full. I didn't. What's wrong with me? :-(
