    Hi everyone!!
Few reminders...it's NEVER too late to join in. Just post your current weight and then your goal weight. When I like your post, it has been added to the spreadsheet. Please post in this thread as well...It is too difficult to look in a third place for PM weigh ins. A lot of the time, entering the numbers takes forever because the site it's hosted from is up and down. So it continually freezes up on me. Although today it was a breeze..knock on wood!!
Also, I'm no excel wiz. I know the very basic functions. If anyone else wants to take the time to do what Bea used to with the border crossings, I say go for it! I have little kids, so my time is pretty monopolized right now. Once school is back in session, I should have some more time to do that.
Also, we've had amazing progress you guys!! Saw some pretty big losses, same numbers as previous week, and small losses. Remember....any progress is better than no progress or going backwards.
I'm 10 months post up on this upcoming Tuesday and let me tell you...the losses are hard fought now. I work pretty hard to get each pound off. But...it's also about balance too. Learning how to balance life, food, fluids, exercise, family, job, and other responsibilities is always tough for any of us...but the key is balance.
As long as you are not going back to pre surgery bad habits..., all of your efforts, actions, mindfulness, and choices ARE progress!!! So many of us find ourselves striving for perfection....but we are human. And what we really need is just some balance.
Ok...that's my weekly message. You can find me on Instagram at gomekast. Search user and I will come up.
Have a great rest of the week, make it a good one!!

I shared with all family and coworkers. The support I received from everyone was somewhat overwhelming. I'm glad I shared. I took my health back!!

Yay! Yay! Yay! Me too! 197lbs from 242. So happy. I've been purging my closet of all my 18, 16, and 14's. Love being in regular size clothes again.

Totally agree. I don't mind who knows about my surgery and a girl at work is now looking into it for herself which could be life-changing for her too and not quite the same as telling her about my period. I don't tell her all of my personal details but she can see that it works and can investigate it for herself.
This is an amazing tool and chance to get healthy and feel good and I feel like any criticism will bounce right off of me. Hard to argue with results.
Now, in all honesty, I didn't talk about it a lot before surgery because in spite of everything I knew, having this surgery was a little scary, like stepping of into black space. Hard to talk about something you don't know. Now, 52 pounds down, I'm singing from the rooftops, "it works!" I also look with serious scepticism at anyone who loses a lot of weight and credits it to just exercise and diet.
Overall, I guess threads like this are good for us all to share our views and differences without judgement.

Bottom line - if you don't want anyone to know, then have your surgery in another country and don't tell ANYONE!
People are always looking for - "don't tell anyone, but...." It will always get out. That's why I decided to be open about it. I'd rather people just know rather than thinking they have one of my deep dark secrets! I'm not posting on Facebook, but I don't really care who knows. That way I can't get mad at anyone!

I have been seeing many threads on here about people keeping their surgery a secret and it really puzzles me. I understand its a personal choice but whenever someone makes a post about it they never really give the reasoning behind it.
I personally do not hide it. If anyone is curious I gladly tell them and when the questions pop up I am pretty well versed as to the facts behind the surgery so I educate them. The way I look at it is if it wasnt for people being open about it I would have never looked into making one of the best decision I have ever made. To me, it seems that keeping that secret would be more harmful mentally than whatever benefit keeping it a secret would do.
So what are the reasons? Is it being embarrassed that you had to have the surgery to lose weight? Do you want people to think you did it on your own? Is it being afraid of "What if it doesnt work"? Or is it "I just like keeping secrets"
I am not judging anyone, I am just curious.

I still feel there is only one occasion for running: Zombie apocalypse. I find cardio is a necessary evil. I do it, but I don't like it, save for swimming. But I only swim two days a week. It's really hard on my hair. Most days I just grind out 30 minutes on the treadmill or ellipitcal and another 30 on the bike. I really do like strength training though.
So in conclusion: Running is for the Zombie apocalypse.

I've told several people who are friends because I don't mind if they ask questions. I don't really tell casual acquaintances because we don't share things at that level. This especially applies to social media where I have mix of family, friends, and people I've never met who just have a common interest.
So I posted a photo of our family and a friend remarked how good I looked after surgery. I just commented not to tell me yet because I'm only half way to goal but I was thinking, now it's out there and everyone knows but no one asked or cared so it was kind of a non event.

I get hiccups and maybe burp when I'm done but 7 weeks out, I know how much I can eat so I stop and then wait for the hiccups and a burp or as things settle.

I'm the same, just 7 weeks out but I love mixing my Protein Shakes with different flavors of injury protein powder, sugar free flavored syrup and either 1% milk out almond coconut milk. I love the variety and can get in a lot of protein first thing in the morning. I stick with protein all day, no bad carbs or sweets.

I was a band to sleeve revision on May 8th weight pre surgery 231. Day of surgery 216. Current weight 183. Lost 32 since surgery and 48 all together. A size 20 tight to a 16. Best thing I ever did. :-)

My trickiest arena in telling people about it was how to handle coworkers because I'm not outside friends with most but it's obvious that I took a week off work and I'm slimming down. I told my direct supervisor the whole truth but his wife is a Sleever so I knew he'd understand. I told my two level up boss I had to have "stomach surgery" and left it at that.
With my friends and especially my church folks, I just tell them the truth and ask for prayer/support. I did get asked to lead a group of those who struggle with food addiction at my 12 step. I also got to be an ambassador yesterday to my dental hygienist who, I thought was just being nosy cause she's healthy weight, but she has a 19 year old 300 lb daughter who's considering it. Can't judge a book by the cover.

I haven't made it a secret that I had surgery cause I did and it's legal and I'm pretty open I guess. Today I was glad because a co- worker asked me all about the surgery, sees how I am doing - well and happy and wants to look into it for herself. Its nice to be able to inspire others. We have an opportunity to be sleeve ambassadors.

There's no way around it, it sucks. You got the sleeve and your post-operative results were dismal. I'd be mad, sad and on my dieticians doorstep demanding help. Our little sleeve is an amazing tool but only you know what you're feeding it. I'm avoiding all carbs since my body will more readilyburn fat if it doesn't have carbs as fuel. Keep them as low as possible, substitute a Protein shake for one meal and eat mostly lean Protein. Get back to basics and you'll kick-start your weight loss again.
During my next stall I'm going to need very similar encouragement. Hard to see the forest for the trees when we are so invested in this process so objectivity goes right out the window!
Hang in there and keep trying!
