Day 1 from hosp- support please!
Make your protein drink with water, no skim milk, that will aid in gas and nausea. Its normal to be sore for a while. Take your bottle water to bed and sip al the time. Try sf pop sickle. Congrats on your surgery

Shopping list
The first week it's broth only, jello, flavor water like MIO, I could have coffee too. Without coffee I don't think I would have survived lol. Good luck. Its not near as hard as it seems. You panic at first from losing the addiction but stay on this forum, it helps!

That's why I said in the liquid stage there is no need to start counting yet. Its like counting 5 calories At a time

My fitnesspal shows I am getting in 100% of my calcium with my protein drinks and beans etc. Why do I still need a calcium supplement?

I think what we are going through is normal, after all isn't this why we had surgery? I'm 2 months out and doc hasn't moved to to solids other than he added baked fish and pinto beans this week

lousianalady (spelled it wrong as a typo!) if anyone needs friends its me! I need help with my diet.. I guess im in starvation mode because I lose so slow but my calories are very low too!

I looked at every bar walmart and my military grocery store has, I didn't find a single 1 that im willing to take in those calories.. the protein and all was good but between the sugar and calories I say NO. if you find one that is low please send me a message!

I would count it as a mean since its such a small amount. but I would take it as often as you want it at this point.. don't start really counting foods until your on full liquids.

Tina, it's just like when they scope you. Same meds and all, then the stretch it with a small balloon while your under. It takes 10 minutes and you wake up feeling so much better

Sunlight.. not only am I allowed oatmeal but cherrios at 7 wks post op.. all doctors are different

You probably also have an ulcer causing the blood, once again nothing to it. They will give you meds that soothe it

Cfergie., I had a stricture last week. Don't be nervous, you won't feel anything and you will wake up cured!! It's awesome, I even got to have taco bell pinto beans yesterday. Good luck and really there is nothing to it

Nothing with Bran! Pouch won't digest bran. Cherrios is on my meal list 7 wks post op

Tina, call your doc. That's what I was doing and didn't knowingly was supposed to feel any different. The procedure was easy and I went straight home. I finally ate today. Taco bell pintos and cheese for lunch and for dinner!

Mony, I will say this.. our overeating is an addictive action. After surgery panic is normal, depression, regrets, but then as the addiction is overcome (for me it took 5 wks) we finally stop living to eat.. we stop thinking about it constantly, we start thinking like a normal person without this addiction. . Good luck.. we are all in this together and can beat this
