Phase 1 chicken broth question

Is chicken broth a drink or a meal? Should I limit it to meal times or can I have it whenever? I am 4 days post op

A meal, but at this point I don't think it matters. It can count as both liquid and meal.

Thanks I only want chicken broth and water I could drink 4 mugs a day of broth

I loved my broth post op! I still have it several times a week. I count it as both meal and Water intake. I like beef broth the best.

I would count it as a mean since its such a small amount. but I would take it as often as you want it at this point.. don't start really counting foods until your on full liquids.

Liquid. There's not enough protein in it to consider it a meal. Meals should be protein shakes at this stage, or protein enhanced broth and such. Now if you add a scoop of unflavored protein to the broth...then you have a meal :-).

That's why I said in the liquid stage there is no need to start counting yet. Its like counting 5 calories At a time
