  1. I have not had a burger or burrito since surgery. I have had a pasta noodle to try and it seems to sit heavy in my sleeve. In fact any bread product feels dense and like a rock just sitting there. I have had tortilla pizza, but now that I read about wonton wrapper pizzas, I want that instead. My sister and I went to a Mexican restaurant and I just ate a piece of shredded chicken out of her taco. A burrito seems like it would be way too heavy as the tortilla isn't cooked. I saw a whole list on Pinterest of wonton wrapper pizzas, tacos, and burritos. Fill them and bake til crispy! I can't wait to make little bite size pizzas. Honestly with as few bites as I take now, 2 little wontons would be filling enough!
  2. Lol! My niece drinks pickle juice and loves it! I would make sure to strain out any garlic or dill bits.
  3. Great! She was calling me a fat ass bitch again today! I love her, but I just can't take the negativity and mean nature anymore!
  4. I only use organic/hormone free meats when I cook. I love organic veggies and fruits too. So much more flavor! I wouldn't use chemicals. I know we need to make use of every tiny bit of our sleeves (or rny/band pouches)! I wouldn't want to fill them up with bad stuff!
  5. That is why I was thinking of this! We are an on the go society and many of us don't have all day to prepare meals or even do those plan ahead frozen meals. Of course they wouldn't Beas expensive as regular lean cuisines or ww meals since they would be smaller! Minimal packaging is always great and I'm hoping it would all recycle! I think most of what we buy now is recyclable
  6. My goal weight is 150 or maybe even lower. I am only 5'4 and that would put me in a normal BMI range. I told my sister my goal weight and she said that that is ridiculous and too skinny! For me, it is what I am striving for, but I'm wondering if she is just jealous, as then I would no longer be the "biggest sister" out of us 4 girls. Whenever her and I get into an argument I can guarantee that she will say something about my weight, and if I get to be less than her, I think she will have issues with it. I'm not sure what her weight is, but it is over 200. She was telling me I should make my goal 250!!!!!????? Well if that was my goal, I wouldn't have even had surgery. The whole thing frustrates me to no end!!!!
  7. If you don't follow the diet, your liver may not shrink enough. I followed a 1 week pre op diet and was still closed up and told my liver was still too large. The next surgeon I went to said he doesn't understand why the other doc couldn't do the surgery, but either way, the diet is to shrink your liver. The new surgeon I went to had me do a 3 week pre-op diet and I kept to it like a champ! There was no way I was waking up again without the surgery being done
  8. Where are you taking your temp? And with what type of thermometer? My temp usually runs lower than normal
  9. We should totally chat about it! I was reading how more than 200,000 people are having bariatric surgery each year! That's a lot of tiny bellys to fill! I hate wasting food and having things in smaller quantities would be nice. I would want to cover all the bases...wonton wrapper pizza, and other italian food...it would be nice to have a baked chicken Parmesan with amazing flavor and some zucchini or spaghetti squash on the side. Mexican wonton tacos, or even precooked taco meat so all you have to do is heat the portion. Chili is another great food! More food ideas...off the top of my head..we can always add more! I'm picky so I'm thinking of good food I know my family likes with me ???? Soups/stews Tortilla Soup Minestrone Chicken noodle Hamburger stew Turkey burger stew Beef chili Turkey chili Veg chili Entrees (some would need to be baked or could even be grilled) Regular meatballs w/sauce and veg Turkey meatball w/sauce and veg Halibut and veg (no cheap gross fish lol) Cajun halibut and veg Breakfast Protein crepe and egg Scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage Scrambled eggs and turkey bacon or sausage Protein waffle (toaster) and egg Cheese/veggie/meat omelets Greek Yogurt Parfaits low sugar with fruit I just have a ton of foods wracking my brain!!!
  10. I just found a ton of recipes on Pinterest using wonton wrappers for mini tacos, pizzas, etc...I'm so going to try them
  11. I have had some crackers and some toast, but any bread still sits in my stomach and feels like a rock.
  12. I am a month out and still haven't had a period. I'm hoping that eventually things will right themselves because my main motivation for having the surgery was to start a family!
  13. If it is more broth I feel I can eat more. If there are any veggies/protein in it I can eat a few spoonfuls.
  14. Mmm I looked at the menu...anyone want to split a turkey cheddar panini lol...we could get the pesto on the side of you want it. I would more than likely eat the insides but I love warm sandwiches
  15. Sounds fun! I am putting on my calendar
  16. I'm not even sure who to contact, but I was thinking...wouldn't it be a great idea to have bariatric size meals ready to go for people. When I went to the grocery store, even a lean cuisine or atkins meal is just too much to eat. Who would want to venture into a business doing frozen and fresh meals and Snacks for wls patients? Does anyone know how to go about this and who to contact? It would be great to have small portion sizes or even 2-3 portions in a box that are separated. It would have to be great tasting food and many varieties! I for one don't eat red meat or pork so using ground turkey and chicken would be ideal for me. I know others eat meat so having thinks like a regular chili and a turkey chili and a vegetarian option would be awesome. Anyways this is an idea that I'm floating around because regular food is just too much.
  17. I tried toast and it sits like a lump in my stomach...no point in eating it
  18. Could you have been allergic to anything at the hospital? When I had cellulitis I couldn't even touch the area without terrible pain... If it doesn't clear over the next 24 hours or gets larger in size quickly, I would call dr asap. Have you tried any antifungals or antibiotic creams? The week after surgery, I ended up with a yeast infection under my boobs. It wasn't itchy, just painful from rubbing under my bra
  19. I wasn't going to tell people at first, but now I'm blogging it, and I tell most people I meet. Going out to dinner with people is easier to explain why I'm eating so little and why I usually just eat a few bites off my hubby's or sisters plate.
  20. Lol! I always get pissed when people who are 10-20 lbs overweight complain. I think it is really rude, especially in front of obese/morbidly obese people. If you are 10-20 lbs overweight STFU and gain 100-200 more pounds and then complain to me
  21. No regrets! My doc actually found and repaired a hiatal hernia during surgery, now I have no heartburn whatsoever, even when I've forgotten to take my PPI. Before surgery, I would spend half the time waking up with reflux. Now I'm happy!
  22. I guess losing slower is easier on our bodies. I know somedays, the easiest things for me to eat are things like Peanut Butter and crackers. I have a hard time eating eggs and Proteins...they seem to make my sleeve unhappy. I also like apple juice and it soothes my tummy. Even with minimal carbs and half water/half juice, I am still losing weight. I'm sure if I were cutting out all carbs, it would be showing a faster rate of weight loss. My surgeon has me on regular foods after 4 weeks, slowly introducing them one by one. The sleeve really is a tool! I can eat one or two crackers and be satisfied, I no longer want the whole container.
  23. My highest was 337 pre op diet: 320 Surgery day: 312 Today: 295 I have a long ways to go, but I've lost 17 pounds in a little less than a month. I was sleeved on 9/22
  24. How far post-op are you? During the first two weeks I was basically a walking commercial for Imodium when I needed to leave the house. It was bad!
