That may be the feeling you are having and not actual hunger. Try an antacid to settle that poor swollen tummy. Take it day by day and it WILL get better and be worth it. I finally reached goal weight of 150lbs at a little more than 14 months out! i am so ecsatatic! I dont think i have EVER been 150lbs in my life....this has been an incredible journey. So to date i have lost 107lbs (started at 257). now for the stretch goal!

So I am licensed by the Texas Lottery commision and I am a Bingo Caller! I love my job, I give away lots of money and make people happy! So I deal with A Lot of people, including a lot of overweight people. So I have this women that plays bingo, and has for years! Always feels compelled to say to me, " you're getting sooo FAT!" The first time she said it to me I was crushed and didn't know what to say. She has said this sort of thing a few times over the years and I am just floored! I just go and cry. So last night at work was by a different lady that has also been a long time customer, comes up to me and says, " YOURE GETTIN SO FAT, YOURE GETTIN UGLY!" I mean what do you say to that! Ok so let me stop and tell you the real shocker of it all, my coworkers are ALL WAYYY bigger then me, one weighs about 400 lbs, another one is about 350 lbs, my boss is about 200lbs, another one is about 200lbs. So! Tell me, why me? Why am I the one that gets all of the flack. I just went to the office and cried, I just can't wait to get my surgery done and start loosing and having the last laugh!

Today is my one year Surgiversary!!!
Starting weight aug 2013 250 lbs
Surgery weight jan 2014 210 lbs
Current weight 144 lbs.  

I am completely off mine ????. It could happen!

Anybody else used/using Providence Hospital and Dr. Katz for their surgery?

What you're feeling is 100% NORMAL! We all had a love of food or we wouldn't be here. Find something healthy to replace it with! For me, going back to school and staying busy has helped tremendously! I'm an emotional eater and a bored eater! When there's nothing to do, I snack! You're grieving the loss of your best friend, food! You'll learn that a LOT of your life is centered around food and it's hard to escape that fact! We have to learn to operate in this world with tiny tummies! I'm 20 months out and 144 lbs down! I'm 17lbs from goal! You can do this! Remember, the first bite tastes as good as the tenth AND Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

Today i Celebrate my one year surgiversary! I am so proud of everything that i have accomplished. I started at 257lbs and am now dow 98 pounds in total. My current weight is 159lbs. I am still a few pounds away from my goal but i am happier than i have ever been in my life. I have struggled with my weight since i was a little girl. I had such an intense loathing for the way i looked most of my life. I feel like this surgery has changed me so much mentally and physically. before i had pain all over my body, Migraines, depression etc. I would refuse to even look at people. Now i have gained so much confidence and it feels so good! i chase my kids around the park for hours while before i was only able to go for about 30 mins. i wouldnt exercise at all and I was treating myself horribly by gorging myself on food. now i feel like i actually know what real NUTRITION is. its not just stuffing my face. its all about giving my body fuel, and using that fuel for energy. One of the best parts is that i can go about my day and not have to think about food every second. Before i literally felt like i was that little boy in the movie d**k Tracy, all i could say is "when do we eat?" I wouldnt trade my sleeve for anything. So for the first time here are my before and after pics.

1 Year ago today I had my sleeve surgery. It was the best decision I've ever made for my health--diabetes in remission; no longer have high blood pressure--off all medications and down 119 lbs. I was hoping to hit my goal by today but i've been in a 3 week stall so I'm 3 lbs short of my goal but I'm thrilled with the results. Even if I don't go any lower--I'm happy with my size 12 self. Sorry for no pictures--I'm not very techy (need to work on that). Best of luck on your journey to those just starting out and continued success to the rest of us!! Lisa

Almost hard to believe it's been a little more than a year now. 95 lbs gone forever and I'm healthy!! No more HBP, no more diabetes, no more gout, no more chest paint or shortness of breath, no more knee and back pain, my heart rate at rest is now in the 60's (formerly around 100). Most importantly I have the energy to play with my kids!!
So happy I got my sleeve!!

It's finally here!!! Surgery is in the morning. Time has really flew by. I feel great but I am a little scared and pray everyone envolved with my surgery is well rested and on their "A" game. Probably wont be able to sleep tonight.

I had my sleeve done by Dr. Katz 11/21/2013. Everything went great and he is very caring. My 1 year anniversary is coming up very soon. I have lost 100 lbs and only have 3 more to go until goal. Good luck, you won't regret it!

I am in Howell Mi, Dr. is KATZ I am having the sleeve on Nov 24th and scared to death but excited too. Anyone else have KATZ?? Surgery is at St. John Macomb-Oakland in Madison Heights.

I have line DRIED my clothes for as long as i can remember in fear that they would shrink... well i have been throwing my size 10 & 8's Jeans into the dry on HIGH heat in hopes that they shrink - i cant afford to go & buy MORE new clothes hahaha

Agree with points above as well. I didn't share my surgery widely when I did it. And I debated sharing it at all. But once people started asking me what I was doing I just wanted to be honest. I thought about the people I work with or associate with who struggle so hard and can't keep weight off. I felt like it would be cruel to make them think that I just found more strength than they had.
And sharing has led to lots of conversations with people who've considered it, or have a loved one thinking about it. It's nice to feel like my sharing might help someone else - and help reduce the stigma associated with it.
