  1. Call me crazy, but do you think that maybe you should eat MORE calories not less....your body might be living off stored energy. Some people loss more if they eat between 1300 and 1500 calories a day.....just a thought??!!! And, what the hell, eating more calories?!! Sounds good to me!!
  2. Good Luck October Bandsters!!!! You have so much to look forward to....a healthier life full of lots of SV's and NSV's! Life is GOOD when you're banded....I pray for each and every one of you a speedy recovery!!!
  3. 10/2 weight in... Last week was 318.8 today it's 312....yeah, my first fill is working like a charm!!!!! Down 6.8 pounds this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. You know SV's are great, but NSV's are truly the best!!! Good for you....
  5. Happy Happy Birthday, Jack....hope it was a great one!!!
  6. Get a good night sleep, relax and enjoy....your life is about to become very exciting with lots of NSV's and SV's!!! I swear I have had so many NSV's and SV's in just 6 weeks I can't keep up with a count....everyday a new one!! Good luck and prayers coming your way.....
  7. I would wait to talk to your doctor, but until then I would say...NO SODA!
  8. Erin, Thanks for the wonderful post....great information. Nykee, O.K., you have your band, so your body is ready to loss weight....now you must prepare your "head" to loss weight....you CAN DO IT because you are WORTH IT, Nykee.
  9. Teresa, Thanks, Teresa...you are doing great, also......I am feeling some resriction, but then I was very luckily to feel some resriction even prior to my first fill!! But, too bad, my hunger is back and so I am dealing with that.....that first 6 weeks after surgery was so wonderful!!!
  10. Happy Birthday....hope it's a good one....
  11. Just wondering how many cc's you had put in on your FIRST fill? My surgeon put in .5cc What about you????
  12. Nana....I am sorry....holy cow, did I miss a week? Time flies, I guess!!! Thanks again for doing this challenge.
  13. I am sorry you have such nasty in-laws.....I, too, live in the land of idiot in-laws. Next time they bring it up.....I would simply tell them "this has been discussed in our previous TWO hour conversation, thank you very much". IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS..... I am proud of you and you should be too....everyone here is proud of you......
  14. Nana.... you missed me....+5 pounds (bummer)
  15. Just like Jack, I started to feel hunger at around 6 weeks...which was great because 2 days later I was scheduled for my first fill (which was yesterday)....After my fill yesterday I was very hunger and since I was on clear liquids and couldn't eat....well, I went SHOPPING instead!!! Today is full liquids so I don't have an excuse to shop today, but might go shopping anyway!!! Also, like Jack said, when hunger hits you will know it....good luck....
  16. Trish.... OMG, so glad you saw a doctor today.....I pray all your tests will result in good news. Take care, rest and know we are thinking of you.
  17. 9/26: up 5 pounds....2nd week on solids and new scale (everyone weighed 5 pounds heavier than old scale), but I am not discouraged!!!! I had my first fill this morning so I am ready to rumble!!
  18. Bummer week up 5 pounds.....it was my second week on solids, and I got a new scale which is great, but eveyone in the family weighed 5 pounds heavier on this scale than the old!!! Oh well, I got my first fill this morning.....so, I am ready to rock n' roll..... Start weight: 317 Week 1: 315 ...down 2 pounds Week 2: 313.6 down 1.4 pounds Week 3: 318.6 up 5 pounds Challenge total to date: 25 to Challenge Goal
  19. Thanks everyone...and you guys are right....I did it, I am human and it's over!! And what kind was it? All veggie pizza, so that's not so bad...pre-band days would have been a large pizza with the works including sausage and pepreroni
  20. Tomorrow I get my first fill....yeah!!! But, today I did something I have not done since I was banded. I sat on the couch and shoveled in caramel corn with peanuts, then we ordered pizza for dinner and I nearly ate a whole small pizza! I feel miserable....why did I do this? I think I might have done it since I know I am getting a fill tomorrow and hope so much for resriction, so I ate too much today! Does this make sense? Anybody else do this?
  21. Nothing like tears of joy....great work and congrats....
  22. Sorry, didn't mean to offend you when I mentioned counseling.
  23. Kare, First of all, I give you major credit for realizing what you are doing and then telling us...I think you are telling us because you not only want to see if anyone else does this, but you are looking for help, too. So, with that said, please find yourself some help, Kare....either on this board or go talk to someone. Throwing up or spitting up...whatever you want to call it, is not good for your band or your mental health. We care about you and want you to succeed and you can DO IT without throwing up, Kare.
  24. John, I just LOVE egg beaters with reduced fat cheese.....yummy P.S. you are lookin' great...
  25. I am not a closet bandster, but I don't go around annoucing it, so some people know and some don't. The only regrets so far are: 1. in the very beginning my closest friend kept telling people " oh, she can't eat that" when offered certain food (nipped that in the bud right away though!!). 2. Those who do know seem to check me out like I am going to drop 50 pounds over night (they have no understanding as to how the band works compared to having bypass surgery). So far I am glad that I have been open about it especially since my eating habits have changed so drastically. Bottom line though....you have to decide for yourself what is best....there is no right or wrong here.
