jacileggs got a reaction from docbree in my teenage daughter is sick of me
I am a single mom with two kids at home. My kids, even the one who lives with her dad have been my biggest supporters. From attending preop appointments and driving me 5 hours round trip for surgery. As well as helping with shopping and chores and looking after the 15 year old. Especially my 15 year old daughter who is my biggest cheerleader. I couldn't have done this without them all. It's rewarding to see them so proud of me. I am down 95 lbs and into a size 8. Loving life again!

Yes. "Lightweights" lose slower as they have less to lose. I am also a slow loser. But better a slow loser than not a loser.

jacileggs got a reaction from RNBSN786 in How much weight loss per week is normal?
I agree. Don't get too high of expectations. Before surgery I saw those 3-5 lbs a week stats and was so excited. I however am a slow loser as I don't have a lot to lose. 6 months post op I am down 50 lbs. But I am happy with that. Still losing super slowly now. But it is still coming off.

jacileggs got a reaction from hcabrooks197 in Why does everyone think that RNY = eating vitamins for a living?
I take 1 prenatal Vitamin and 1 Calcium supplement a day. My labs results are all normal. I wouldn't be able to handle taking a bunch of pills a day.

Other then being morbidly obese I had no other health problems. My father however is also morbidly obese and I am honestly surprised he is still with us. He has had double heart bypass. He needed a quadruple bypass but they couldn't find enough good veins to use because he is so large. He also has diabetes and many other weight related health problems. I could see myself going down his path and I wasn't going to have it. I am post op 4 months. Down 80 lbs. I am one pound away from dropping into the overweight category. So happy. Want to lose 30 more pounds. And yes. I love the attention. People complimenting me telling me how great I look. Started wearing makeup again and buying cute clothes. It's hard to feel beautiful when you feel like a whale.

It would however be an excellent opportunity for them to follow a complete story. Like help her with plastics and show how healthy she is now. I am starting to get the saggy skin and I will keep it covered. But I would rather have saggy skin and a healthy body than what I had before.
