Several people in my local support group mentioned balance problems, including falling. I think part of it is due to the rapid weight loss - it takes time to adjust.

I had a great experience with Dr. Cribbins at Plano Presbyterian.

My doc had me wait until 3 mos to take a dafer NSAID - and it bothered my stomach.

On the other hand, paying $5 is cheap compared to before the sleeve when I would have paid the $10 and felt like I needed to get my money's worth - eating some of everything available. Now that's expensive in a different way!

I used one recently for a brakfast buffet at a hotel and got away with "only" paying $5 for my one egg instead of $10!

My Surgeon said that my going braless was one of the causes of the yeast infection I got just under my breasts - the sweat never dried.

Jdillon's profile says she is pre-surgery and surgery is set for July.

What convinced me was when I realized that, if I didn't have the surgery, I was also making a decision and that decision came with higher risks than the surgery.

I was on the full liquid diet (full allows SF/FF yogurt and pudding and strained LF cream soups) for nearly six week after surgery. It was frustrating, be certainly doable. I wanted something to chew, but I was perfectly healthy and not hungry. You can do it!

Michael, I was sleeved by Dr. Cribbins in Dec 2013 and thought he was great and the Plano Presby Bariatric Center of excellence was fantastic. The floor you stay on is all baritric patients and everyone there knows so much about the recovery process. Good luck and keep us posted.

I agree with everyone else and also wanted to say that this was an important part of the journey for me. I was on liquids for almost six weeks. After I started eating real food, it seemed like more trouble than it was worth, especially since it frequently caused pain. At four months out, I enjoy the taste of food now, but it doesn't drive my actions. I have a strong connection in my mind now between food and providing my body with what it needs to survive and thrive - I never had that before. I don't have the cravings for food that isn't good for me (though I enjoy a bit now and then).

I had a rash where there were skin folds - it was a yeast infection. The doctor had me use jock itch powder and it cleared right up. It came back a couple more times, but I was able to quickly treat it. The use of antibiotics allows yeast to grow more easily.

Hang in there! Even for those of us that didn't have your complications, getting the Water in took time. I couldn't drink 64 oz. for a few weeks. Watch for signs of dehydration, but relax and walk as much as you can.

I get it. I've gotten a lot of comments at work and it's always hard to know how to respond. Some of them are a little over the top. To those that are struggling themselves and seem to be upset with themselves for not being able to do the same thing, I have privately "confessed". To everyone else, I say that I am eating high Protein and exercising.

I've thought about doing the same thing - but I've got a long ways to go. I was married 33 years ago and the dress has been "hermetically sealed" since then. What do you want to bet it is yellow? Neither of my daughters wanted to wear it. It would be great if I could ever fit into it again. By the way - you look great!

I recently posted hugs to someone that was feeling that shame you described. Shame is an emotion that has wrecked my weight loss attempts many times. If we are feeling that way, I think it is something we have to get over or we will never get to our goals (no matter what our final weight). I was impressed with the person that posted for the bare honesty with which she brought her pain to the group.

Yes, the card my doctor gave me says something similar to that.

Good question. My doctor gave me a card to carry in my wallet - but they'd never locate it in time with all the junk I have in there! I wondered the same thing.

The hardest thing for me was giving up the comfort of food - a big TexMex dinner or a snickers bar made me feel content - briefly.
