  1. I was banded by Dr.Lopez and he is a very competent surgeon. His follow up is terrible but from what everyone else says that is common. The Angels Hospital facility is awesome. I have never been in such a clean and modern hospital. While I was there I met Dr. Kuri and he seemed to be a very nice person and the people that had their surgery from him have had many nice things to say about him. There are quite a few good Drs in Mexico but I can only speak for my own. I would recommend Dr. Lopez if you have no need for follow up. I would also have no problem recommending Dr. Kuri based on conversations I have had with other people.
  2. Does anyone have any experience with Cigna and them coving reconstructive surgery after you reach goal?
  3. Everyone doing research must talk to Don Mills at Allergan. He is in charge of the proctoring program for the Lap Band. I spoke to him at length and he really did help me with my research. He also disproved something a coordinator from a very respected Drs office told me. So DO YOUR RESEARCH.
  4. I am just over 2 months post op and have started to add more muscle excercises to my work out. I was doing some sit ups the other day andwhenI was done my port hurt. I figure this is due to my muscles pulling at the stitches. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. I go in for my second fill onWednesday and plan on askingthe Dr what he thinks.
  5. I would wait at least an hour before you excercise. When you eat you get a blood rush to your stomach for the absorbed food. Also remember to get some protein in within 30 minutes of finishing your work out. This will help your body repair any damage that occured in the excercise. Specifically the microtears that happen in your muscles.
  6. It is interesting that that was her first post.
  7. check out Barix clinic in Ypsi. Dr Schram there is amazing. I am using him for my follow up care and could not be happier.
  8. I was banded 6 weeks ago by Dr. Corvala. He is a great surgeon and the hospital was amazing. I am not impressed with his follow up care. I sent them an email 4 weeks ago and no response. If you want a Dr that is going to give you immediate follow up attention I would not choose him. There were several people on my floor when I was there that had Dr. Kuri do their surgery and I actually got to talk to him. If I had to do it over again I would use Dr. Kuri rather than Dr. Corvala.
  9. I was also banded by Dr Lopez Corvala. I am not impressed with his follow up care but he is a very competent surgeon and did a good job in that regard.
  10. If you have the full feeling I doubt they will fill you.
  11. Let me clarify this. I am down a total of 38 pounds including the 2 week pre op diet. I am not down 38 pounds since the surgery.
  12. days 1-3 clear liquids days 3-14 full liquids including cream soups 14-21 mushies 21+ transition in full foods as I feel I can handle.
  13. I am one 8 days post op and I am down a total of 38 pounds. I get a fill 6 weeks post op.
  14. I am one week post op and the pre-op det was miserable. However it was all worthwhile when I was at the Dr yesterday for my follow up and I am down 38 pounds since my preop diet started. Now I can't wait to get out of the liquid stage. 6 more days and then I can chew again. I am excited.
  15. I had my surgery last Wednesday by Dr. Corvala. The Angels Hospital is awesome and so is Dr Corvala. I had very little pain and seem to be doing great.
