  1. That is definitely not normal. I have been experiencing some tightness too for the last 3 days and I am assuming mine is due to my cycle which should start any day now. My doctor has never had anyone with the cycle problem, but I definitely have it for sure and no one seems to know why. My doctor has started me on diuretics a few days before my cycle is due to start to see if Water retention may be causing some swelling, but we have not seen much improvement with that. I am over two years in and I would say with the symptoms you are experiencing, you definitely need an unfill. I have had 3 complete unfills since Ihave had my band and all have been worth it. I hope you are feeling better soon, because there is no worse feeling.
  2. I continually have this problem when it is my TOM. My doctors say that I am their only patient that has this problem, but I calendar it every month and it has been a continuing pattern for over a year. My doctor prescribed some water pills to try. I am just getting tight again, so I popped one today. We'll have to see if it helps. It's such a bummer when this happens.
  3. What happened to everyone? Is everyone still pleased with their band and doing well? I love mine and still think it was the best decision ever. Hope all is well.
  4. I have this problem every month. I just went to my doctor this week to address the situation. She was very hesitant to remove any of my fill since I have been doing so well, but I finally convinced her to at least remove .1 cc because it is becoming unbearable for a few days each month. I'm not sure that .1 cc will do anything because my restriction feels the same right now, but I should know in about a week.
  5. I am right there with you. I am going in this morning to get .2 removed. I am losing like crazy again, but I can barely tolerate meat anymore and I do not want to push it to the point that I have to get a complete unfill again. Good luck with your relief, lets hope it helps both of us.
  6. WOW!! You are doing awesome! Great job. I am hoping to be where you are at someday!
  7. Thanks for the thoughtful posts. I finally went in for my fill a couple days ago, but they would only give me 1cc for a total of 2cc (apparently I had 1cc in there still). Unfortunately, I still have no restriction whatsoever, but I am just trying to tough it out until I can have my next fill onthe 28th. It really stinks, but in someways it has been a lesson that I cannot rely entirely on my band to get this weight off. It has become vividly clear that I was getting by entirely on the sensation of being full rather than making mindful food selections. My goal is just to make sure that I do not get to the 200 pound mark again and just maintain until I can get to that spot where I can begin my loss again. I REFUSE TO LEAVE ONEDERLAND!!! Thanks for the support and I look forward to reading your update pizzi.
  8. So, it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I am in need of some feedback and support. The day before Thanksgiving I became completely blocked and required an emergency unfill. I was freaked out at the thought of no restriction, but was in so much pain that I did not even care at that moment. Now the bad news..... Since my unfill, I have gained 12 pounds!!! :tongue_smilie: And my doctor cannot get me back in for a fill until the 31st and when they do, they will only give me a small fill to start. I have joined Weight Watchers to try to slow down this crazy weight gain, but even sticking 100% to plan, my body is gaining weight. Has anyone bee through this and do you have any suggestions?? Thanks for listening.
  9. Holy Crap!!!!! I lost 100 pounds!!!! I am seriously beside myself. Never in a million years did I think it was possible for me to lose that much weight. Thank you all for sharing your success and tips along the way.
  10. Congrats to you! I finally made it myself this week. If I never lose another pound I would still be the happiest ever. All I ever wanted was to see a 1 as the first number on the scale. I have not seen that since before my first daughter was born. Now I just have to work to keep it that way.
  11. Hi Ladies, I am in the same boat.....major slow loser, but I feel so much better about the way I look and feel that I could honestly care less if I lost another pound at this point. Don't get me wrong, I would love to lose some more, but I can shop in the normal women's department at all stores now and that was truly all I wanted in addition to a general improvement in my health. Stay positive and keep working. Slow and steady wins the race!
  12. I am still a slow loser, but as long as I am losing I am good with that. It has been several months since I have had a fill, but I am not sure that I want to be any more restricted than I am now, even if it means a faster weight loss. Hang in there, slow and steady wins the race. :wink2:
  13. Salsa, I'm with you, I get bored on cardio machines. I did 20 minutes on the elyptical this morning and I was not tired at all, but I think I have cardio ADD. Sometimes I do 10-15 minutes on the treadmill, then move to the bike, then move to the stairmaster, just to keep my attention a little longer and get the time in that I need.
  14. You guys are really doing awesome. I think I need to start making better food choices to kick me back into gear. I am still losing slowly, but I think if I really looked at what I eat, I could kick it up a notch. Keep up the good work everyone!
  15. Hubby and I played tennis last night for about an hour. I would probably burn a little more if he did not play tennis like Barry Bonds. I did however get some cardio running to the other courts to apologize to other players and retrieve our balls. I think we will stick to raquetball. At least the ball cannot leave the court there.
