  1. It's no surprise and the big push to make it work is to "end world hunger" supposedly but what is being often peddled seems to be pushing the rise in our health problems in the US. This is Just my opinion and in no way do I expect it to be everyone's but I wish our govt would be more proactive in some ways like other countries are and stand up for the people and our health.
  2. SapMegan how far post op are you? Mine has diminished but now I have a rash pretty much everywhere I perspired excessively. My dr says I can take Benadryl and see if that helps. It itches really badly when I take a shower but when I'm just sitting here it burns. Hoping when I get some Benadryl in me that it helps.
  3. On my pre op diet I had hit a wall so to speak and couldn't lose anymore weight. I was consistently eating high protein/low carb (no bread, pasta etc) and did not lose for weeks. I had a work trip to Germany for a week and decided that I was going to experience the food and relax and enjoy myself. I ate so much. I'm talking breakfast lunch and dinner were all an affair, not just a formality. We had appetizers and dessert every night after eating a hearty meal and I enjoyed every minute of it. I ate duck and lamb and squid which I'd never had before along with other things. I say all of this to add that I lost 7 lbs while I was there! This along with many articles etc has me convinced that not only our choice if food is making us add on the lbs but also the preservatives and additives that our food is being treated with before it ever makes it into our shopping carts. I'm now a firm believer that the fight against some companies is worth it. If other countries are outlawing some of these "growth enhancers", why aren't we?
  4. My dr did a scope throat test and an ultrasound both before my surgery. Throat to check for hernia etc and ultrasound to check for gallstones because I still have my gallbladder and if I had stones he could remove the gallbladder at same time as surgery. Good luck.
  5. Thank you, I'm still learning my way around but seems like I keep taking wrong turns on this site and can't find topics relevant. I'm 7 days post and just yesterday was able to start taking on a little more water than not. Today I was able to take in about 8 oz water, 8 oz premier protein, 1/8c. Fage and 1/8c. Oatmeal and a sf Popsicle. I know this isn't enough but even getting this down has made me have hiccups (painful) twice. And I did take plenty of time to try to eat and used a small spoon taking only "sips and bits". Feeling guilty.
  6. I'm one week post too and have found that adding mio to my water is a lot more tolerable and doesn't give me the chest pain or nauseas feeling regular water does.
  7. I'm totally with you girl! My surgery was 11/11 and I'm not getting in nearly enough and feel very weak and tired. Haven't been able to walk much because it's hard to just stand for long periods without getting foggy headed. I'm ready for the sun to shine! Got my protein and liquids I just can't seem to stomach them.
  8. I need info on unflavored protein to add to my food etc. I have seen where one person said unjury unflavored. Any input before I go buy? I'm 7 days post sleeve and haven't been able to tolerate much of anything to this point.
  9. This is probably what I'm most nervous about going back to work! I have a 30 min lunch break and 3-15 min breaks for my 12 hour shift. If I end up sick at work I will automatically get sent home because I work in the food industry.
  10. Thank you! I'm having problems with this site and can't seem to start a thread or make a comment without it being in response to someone else's comment, is this normal? This is only the first week of my finding this site but it's discouraging since I'm 7 days post sleeve and have lots of questions.
  11. So if I just had a major case of the hiccups after eating soup is that a sign that I ate it too fast?
  12. No muscle relaxers prescribed here. Just nausea meds and hydro
  13. Interesting link. Not sure what is causing it but its very smelly as well and I usually have no problem with excessive or smelly perspiration. It does seem be going away today. My 7th day out. Maybe it was the Meds? I will def ask my dr on my 2 week visit.
  14. . No to temp and I'm freezing as well.
  15. I have no idea but I've definitely lost because I couldn't hold anything down until yesterday. I just don't have a scale here to see how much.

  20. I was also sleeved Monday but in Arkansas. The first week was rough for me because I couldn't really stomach anything but I'm starting to feel like I'm coming out of the fog. Looking forward to the next week.
