Never thought I'd hate food!
My friend who had the bypass said she couldn't tolerate eggs for months after. Her go to was egg custard to get the protein in and said it was delish.

Help With Symptoms.
I get migraines from aspartame. If you're drinking a lot of crystal light or eating other "sugar free" things you might check the food content and see if that is what it is.

Help! The Mother Is Coming! <Cue Jaws Music>
Wear looser clothes and keep excusing yourself to go to the restroom during dinner. She will eventually ask what's wrong and tell her that you're having stomach issues and need to take your food to go. Of coarse only after you've eaten enough to satisfy your sleeve. maybe tell her you ate some questionable food the day before and might have gotten slight food poison?

Help?
I can't drink plain water. It goes down fine when I mix grape mio in it. You might try flavoring yours.

Itching! Help!
I had same itching problem. I think it was me sweating out all the Meds I had taken because soon after I got a rash. I'm on day 11 and its still healing. My dr told me to take Benadryl.

Were Your Children Allowed To Visit You?
Mine weren't allowed because my dr has all of his sleeve patients sent to ICU after surgery for the night.

Exhausted
I'm really worried about going back to my 12 hour manufacturing job. I'm on my feet for pretty much 11 of those hours and with still being on purée when I go back I worry that I will get exhausted and not Ben able to function with my family when I get home. I work from 5:30am to 6pm so I'm up at 4:45. Add in energy loss and eating habits changed and I'm not sure how it's going to go. I'm trying to prepare by packing tons of food options for my breaks but on purée it's gonna be tough. How long out was it until you got your energy spurt?

Excessive Perspiration Post Sleeve?
No I would just be sitting there and have a pool of sweat under me and under my belly fold and under my armpits going down my arms. Now I have a rash where I was sweating but the sweating has subsided.

No Pre-Op Diet? Drain Port?
My experience exactly! I had to do 10 days of no carb or sugar and high protein but it was no big deal cause I'd already changed my eating. I had small glued incisions (4) that were closed by the 4th day out. Loved it!

Day One Liquid Was Horrible And The Day Is Still Not Over...
I keep reading about the pre liquid diet but my dr had me on a strict no carb/high protein diet with no sugar except protein shakes. It was 10 days but I could eat meat, cheese etc and he said he didn't put his patients on liquid because he doesn't believe it's necessary. When I had my surgery he said my liver was shrunk and flat and he had no problems. Hate that all drs aren't as good as mine as far as the pre-diet goes. But glad he was like that for me!

Is It Just Me?
So funny!! I'm 9 days post as well and was asking in chat if anyone else noticed it! It's like everything revolves around food! Forget watching the Hallmark channel! I'm an emotional roller coaster anyway and I'm crying, smiling, upset because of the movies right now then salivating because of the commercials!

What Did You Wear To And From The Hospital?
Yoga pants and an oversized tshirt and a seeater. I did wear underclothes and had no problem with wearing clean things home. I was in gowns most of my stay and I just slipped into my house shoes to wear home because I wasn't driving. The second day wasn't bad. 3-5 were my worst days.

So... What Are My Chances?
I'm don't have numbers or stats and am by no means a health professional but what I was told is that in most cases when excessive weightloss happens quickly (which Im hoping it will) that usually because of it the gallbladder kinda freaks and yes you end up having it taken out usually by month 6 after, from what I understand. I have my gallbladder so I guess I will find out.

I've Been So Bad
I'm just 9 days post but already know when I go back to work on my 12 hour shift I'm packing tons of healthy options. If I don't want one thing I can eat the other. My biggest problem is keeping my coworkers out of my lunch bag!

Yay 9 Days Post And I Can Hold Down Liquids Again!
Got up today thirsty as a dehydrated person and dreaded drinking thinking im not gonna be able to hold much down and be miserable but I can!! I'm so excited about this small victory! It's like I went to bed and woke up and my stomach changed overnight! I'll be trying the shakes again today and see if I can get in any protein! Fingers crossed!

Nurses As Bariatric Patients
When I was in the hospital having my sleeve done the doctor told me that tons of medical professionals of every kind we're having it done because they had a 250$ copayment locally and that was it total cost. Everyone is scared that insurance will be changing soon and put higher cost on the surgery.

Been Bad On Pre-Op Diet!
Definitely tell your surgeon. Mine told me that he has actually started surgery on a patient (several times) and closed the person back up and didn't do surgery because of their big liver. It's not only dangerous for you because a larger liver tends to crack and bleed but also dangerous for your surgeon because your not following the diet and him doing surgery anyway could lead to health issues for you and a malpractice suit against him. It's just not worth the risk.

1 Weak Out - Dehydrated, Getting Hardly Any Protein And Starving
My hubby just went and got me some vitamin water zero and its tolerable so that's a good sign. Was thinking I was gonna have to call my dr and see him sooner if I stay like this. Already headed for a UTI and I definitely don't want that!
