  1. Started training for the 1/2 marathon this week. 3 miles Tuesday and 3 miles tonight, then Saturday morning! I am a walker, so no speed records. Looking forward to beating my last years time with some of the excess weight gone.

      Do you have a specific plan on how to work up to it, or are you winging it?

      The YMCA is sponsoring it. They have a 13 week training session leading up to it. (they even had a 5 week jump start, to get people ready to go from 1 mile to 3 miles. the 13 weeks go 3Xs a week. 3 miles, 3 miles, 3 miles. then 3,3,4. then 3,3,5 eventually getting to 5,5,11. It is great fun to train with up to 500 people at a time, and so much encouragement, you can't believe it. I have re-injured my knee, and may not get to do it, but will be walking at a slower pace for less time until then.
