Please don't be nervous. .I was freaking out prior to my appointment also..trust me it's nothing to be nervous about..they just ask u basic questions. .the part I hated was the 526 computer test..asking the same questions over and over again, but phrase differently. .keep up posted. That was the last thing I need also before they submit to insurance.

Anyone with humana? If so how long they took to approve surgery. Done with all requirements waiting for doctor office to submit.

During the seminar the doctor said he only gives 2 wks off..he said no one requires more than that off..that's ridiculous! Everyone recovers differently. Especially healthcare workers. If I have to beg him I will ask him for 3-4 wks off. .since I'm also in healthcare.

I love this..cause I have doubts in telling anyone..I know how negative people can be. ESPECIALLY women..I have a few I'd them in my life, very negative and gossip soooooo much.

That's my concern also. .only hubby, sisters, mom knows. .I want to keep it private. Not sure how to go about requesting time off. Hope to have wls by early next month. Did I guys take FMLA? I already know I will be talked about by friends and coworkers. Especially working with a bunch of nurses and we get bariatric patients in our department post op all the time..I already know they will say or think I'm not big enough (I weight 240lbs)..mind u they are all almost skinny & they complain all the time how big they are and they need to lose weight. ..smdh

I'm having issues telling people also. Only my hubby, sisters, mom about it..I don't feel comfortable telling coworkers. Especially since I work with nurses (not a nurse myself) .I hear what they say about patients when they come to our department post op. I don't even know what I will tell my manager yet when I have to request time off..should I take FMLA. I was thinking I should tell them I'm having hiatel hernia repair? Which is also try I was told after my upper GI..doctor said he will repair while his doing the surgery. Realllly don't want to say ANYTHING til maybe when I return to work.

After psychology evaluation, how long did they take to send results to doctor? Have all my requirement done. Hope to have wls by early march.

Just got back..I spoke to psychology for about 20 min...then I had the computer test. It was 526 questions...I wasn't nervous once I got there. .he was not a personable person at all..glad it's over

I'm at the final stages for wls, only thing remaining is clearance letter from my pcp and psychology evaluation. I'm so nervous to schedule evaluation. .anyone else was nervous? Pleas let me know your evaluation went. ..tnx

So excited to hear from doc office yesterday that my insurance no longer require 6 mnths, now it's only 4..surgery may be end of Feb or beginning of march..happy, excite and super nervous at the same time. I guess It normal and for the last 5 mnths I thought it would happen April/ May. .now it may be sooner..had this happened to anyone else? Where you end up having the procedure sooner than expected?

Hope to have surgery end of Feb or beginning of march..sooner than I thought. .had long talk with my hubby today. .and he told me he will support me..can't wait to I get some of the weight off..I was shock today when speaking to my hubby. He noticed with the weight I have gain I walk different and slower.

Received good news today from doctors office, that my insurance dropped the 6 months diet down to 4.. so which makes today my last nutritional visit..I excited and verrrry nervous at the same time..I was thinking surgery would be in April/ May. .it's getting real now! Anyone had this happen to them. .panicking!

Haven't been sleeve yet...but all the things you stated, run through my mind on a daily basis. .I lack all those things now due to my weight. I hope to feel better about myself after surgery.

Thank you so much everyone..at first my mom and sis was all for wls, in the beginning..but when they notice, I'm all into it now..they backed out on me. Especially when a family friend had wls, 1yr ago. And she looks to skinny and sickly..their afraid I will get to skinny and sickly.

Can't believe as I get closer to having wls..my hubby says he don't agree that I should have surgery. .now my hubby,sister, mom..don't think I should have wls. It's frustrating that no one is on my side :-(

I haven't had surgery yet, hopefully in April. I have heard great reviews about hairfinity. I started taking them along with my iron, B-12, vit D,zinc, and women one a day multi vitamins. ..I have thin hair already. .doing everything possible to not lowering much hair after surgery. .I have been taking them for a few months. ..keeping fingers crossed. Not only for approval from insurance company, but also to not become bald...lol

I had my appointment with my pcp this morning. .he was all for wls..the lap band or the sleeve. He said he wouldn't recommend bypass. I was soooooo nervous for nothing. He said it will help me since I have not been able to lose weight. Now I have ballooned up to 240lbs :-(..can't believe at times how did I let myself get so big. .praying for surgery in April/ May.

I have appt tomorrow to inform my pcp, that I'm in the process of getting WLS. i'm already going into my 4th month diet visit with nutritionist. How do I approach him about it and have him write a medical letter of necessity to submit to insurance company. The end of the 6mnths diet visits is closing on me really fast..hope he doesn't give me a hard time.
