Kim, I am so sorry to hear about the little man. It breaks my heart. I am sure everything will go well. Children are so resilient. He seems to be such a trooper to be able to go through this at the Doctor's office and not complain. What a strong little man you have. All you can do is love him and comfort him. Yeah, I don't understand why the hospital cant file the insurance? They are a top 100 hospital in the nation and can't file insurance? What is up with that? I think we can file it on our own but that's a pain in the you know where! Not sure whats up with it. Does Bauman do the fill in his office or do we have to go to the hosptial? Why the copay? If we go to the hospital why do we have to pay a copay. It's crazy and I didn't know any of this until last month. Oh well, I will make it through it.

Hello Courtney! I am glad to see you are out from lurking. I was also banded by Dr. Bauman and I am doing great. I haven't had a fill yet and I have lost about 45 pounds. I will probably get a fill next month. I am starting to fill hungry and want to eat more so I will tell the nutritionist that I want one. Did you know we have to pay for the fill up front that they don't submit to insurance? That was a shocker to me but oh well, I will have to do it if I want it to work for me. Please come out on the 5th and we will have a great time. Ruby's has a really good healthy menu to choose from. Looking forward to meeting you. Angie

Cool! You are doing great. That milk has to be bothering you? I couldnt handle it. So I stayed away from it. The broth was yummy. I loved that the most as well. It does go down much easier. Take your nap and hope you get some rest before they get home. Angie

Come on out and have some lunch with us and ask as many questions as you would like. I am 3 months post op and I love my band. It is the best thing ever. I know you will hear that from some RNY, but I do have a friend that went with Dr. Bauman and has had nothing but trouble with his RNY. Not to say every patient does with him but my friend wishes he could go back and have the band as well. Keep that in mind. See you all on the 5th of NOV! I am excited! Angie

I am happy to hear how well you are doing Melissa! Keep it up. Try not to cheat any because it will hurt and not make you feel all to well. You don't want to mess anything up. How much have you lost? I hope you do really well with the first two weeks. I lost 17 pounds the first two weeks. It was nice to see it go so fast. Now it has slowed down at a snail's pace. I need to get my but up and working out. It is hard to get motivated though. I am going to go tonight and work out. I need to keep it going. Keep me posted on how you are doing ok? Have a good one. I was told to not drink for six months. Because the first six months is where you lose the most weight and they dont want that many empty calories to go in your system. I havent had one since June and I am ready for a Margarita! Christmas here I come! Angie

Melissa, I ate my last dinner at 8pm the night before Surgery. You just can't eat after midnight. You are going to do fine! You are in great hands with Dr. Bauman. Yes Good Luck with you Melissa! I hope all goes well with the Surgery. I went to Dr. Bauman's office today as well to see the Nutritionist. There was someone in there filling out paper work? Was that you? I had my daughter with me and she was in a panthers cheerleading outfit? I was there around 10:20. I almost started talking and then said no she is filling out some papers so I left her alone. It would be funny if it was you? Melissa let me know if you need anything at all after surgery. Cool Melissa! I hope Dr. Bauman and his crew are taking good care of you. They did me and I am very happy with everything. Have you seen the nutritionist yet? She is really good too. I go to them on the 13th I believe? Not sure. They do call and remind you. So why are you doing a self pre-op diet? Dr Bauman lets you eat until the night before surgery. I did fine. I had my last supper at around 8pm that night and then didn't eat anymore until two weeks later! lol You are going to do great. If you follow the nutritionists guidelines you will do wonderful. It is hard. I did cheat last night and have a piece of pizza. I felt guilty but I know I can't be strong all the time and temptation will get me. Three more days and you are in Bandland! I am excited for you. When you are out if you have any questions at all let me know. And Dr. Bauman will let you stay a night and that was all I needed was a night and then I went home. The ride home was rough but I made it. It took an hour and I had to stop several times to walk and pass gas. hehe OK I am off of here. Gotta get ready for my lunch date! Angie

Hey Girls, I wanted to give you all an update on how I am doing. I am now at 185.6 pounds. That is a total of 41 pounds lost. I measured myself too and have lost some good inches. Don't really want to share the measurements! I am now in a size 18. I started in a size 22. This was the best decision I have ever made for myself. I am so happy with the results. You girls that were just banded will do great. This band is my best friend! lol I love it and will never get rid of it unless I absolutely have too! lol Angie

Congrats Dianne!!! I am so proud of you! Keep up the great work. You will be able to lay down in that bed and get comfy in no time. I thought that would take forever too. I was so uncomfortable the first week. Melissa, Dr. Bauman will let you stay a night if you want too. He was ready to kick me out but I told him no! I had three little ones at home that would be climbing all over me and I just wanted to rest. So he let me. And btw, those beds at NEMC are so comfortable. I was in heaven. Thanks Kim! I am working my heart out. It is slowing down a bit, I only lost 1 pounds last week and I was like oh hell NO! So I have stepped up my workouts and started lifting weights. Hopefully that will kick start some more. If it starts slowing down like this then I will get a fill next month. Fills are 200 dollars and they have to be paid up front and then I submit it to insurance. Weird how that is but oh well. I really need to do it I think because I am starting to feel a bit more hungry throughout the day. Please take pictures for me so I can see how everyone is doing. I hate it that I am missing it because I do like to get out and hang with you ladies. Angie
