  2. Hey Fabfatgrl, Can you tell me at what point in your pregnancy you had your band deflated? I'm having IVF this month and am curious since I've been told you only need about 300 extra calories a day in the first trimester of pregnancy. Thanks!
  3. Howdy Ladies! I'm going to have IVF in August and have a lot of the same questions that y'all have raised. I've lost 30 pounds since being banded. I wanted to lose a little bit more, but now is the time for the IVF! First, I don't know when I should get unfilled. If you really only need 300 extra calories per day then I wouldn't think you would need to be deflated until your second trimester if you are careful to get the right nutrients. Do y'all agree? I guess I'll talk to my doc about it, but wanted to see what everyone else's experience was. I appreciate any ideas or suggestion you ladies have since I'm new to this banding and baby stuff. ha Good luck to you all!
  4. Hi guys! This is my first time to join in one of these discussion boards. I was banded 5/9/06 by Dr. Adam Smith in Fort Worth. I had to be deflated at about 5 months when I thought I was pregnant. Then had to go through the whole refill process again. ARGH! So far, I've only lost about 30 pounds in over a year. I'm getting discouraged, but I think it's my own fault. My choice of foods is still not so good and I seem to be able to eat more than I should be able to. I'm afraid I've stretched out my stoma. Has anyone else had this happen? Can it be fixed? Thanks!
