I love boating, golf, gardening, hanging out with friends, and playing with my grandkids! Seems like there are a lot of talented people in this forum.

Don't be discouraged. My BMI is 30 and my insurance company is paying for my surgery. I would try another doctor and see if they think they can get you covered. My surgery is on April 27th and it only took about 4 weeks to get the appoval from my insurance. KEEP TRYING!!
  3. Hey Trish, I know just how you feel. My surgery is on Wednesday. Everytime I get to eat my lean meat, I just savor it. I have been practicing on chewing and eating very slowly. It takes me about an hour to eat the small amount they are allowing me. I feel sorry for my husband...he has only been allowed straight Protein shake since last Tuesday and his surgery is next Friday. Every time he smells food it is hard for him. I wish you the best on your surgery and I am glad you have already lost 10 lbs! YOU GO GIRL!! Best Wishes to you:D
  4. What is erosion? Why was your band removed.
  5. UHC is great! I am having my surgery by Dr. Powell at the Surgery Center of Richardson on April 27th. I am happy for you. Maybe we will end up in the same support group.
  6. We are having surgery on the same day! Best wishes to you. I am happy for you!
  7. I bet he'll be happy for you. Me and my husband are doing it together, 2 days apart. It needs to be something that you are doing for yourself, not for someone else. If you are happy with your decision then I am sure your husband will be happy too!
  8. That is correct. I sent you back a reply in regard to my insurance. I guess I qualified because of my family history and my blood pressure was kind of high too.
  9. I'm getting banded on April 27th and my husband is getting banded on April 29th. Me- 5'6" 187 lbs Him- 6'2" 315 lbs Dr. Robert Powell, Richardson,TX I am very nervous today for some reason.
  10. I wrote a message eariler, but I think I did it wrong. I applied for lap band surgery about 5 weeks ago and found out on Monday that both me and my husband were qualified. I lost my job on April 8th and they agreed to pay my insurance through the end of the month. I called my doctor and he had both of us come in on Tuesday and he scheduled my surgery for next Wednesday and my husbands for Friday, before my insurance expires. This has all happened so fast. I am 5'6" and my current weight is 187. I am getting scared after reading some things on this site. Does anyone reget getting the band. I hope I am making the right decision.
  11. This is my first post and my first time on any message board. This month has been a whirlwind for me. I lost my job on April 8th. I had applied for the lap band surgery about 5 weeks ago. I got word from my insurance company this past Monday that that both me and my husband were qualified for the surgery. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and I explained that I lost my job and that my insurance expires at the end of the month. The doctor scheduled my surgery for April 27th and my husbands for April 29th. I was kind of surprised that I qualifed so easily. My current weight is 187 and I am 5'6". I have dieted and failed for about 15 years now. I am doing this for my health since I have a strong family history of heart disease and diabetes. After reading some things on this site I am starting to get scared. Does anyone regret getting the band? I saw a post eariler and can't find it now where a person said she regretted it. I am getting really nervous, it all happend sooooo fast!
