  1. I'm struggling as well. 10 days post op today & am not getting anywhere near the 60 grams of protein goal. Every time I try to drink a protein shake I dry heave, gag, and/or throw up. I bought the Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel last night & suffered threw about 7 ounces this morning before I started gagging! Hey, that's progress! I'm only eating about 1 ounce at a meal so there is no way I can survive this way......At a loss for what to do.
  2. I'm 9 days out from surgery and I'm only allowed 1 tablespoon of protein & 1-2 teaspoons of veggies. I'm still eating in medicine cups!
  3. Thanks everyone for the responses. Sorry it's been awhile since I got back on here, was traveling. I started soft/puréed food today! Yeah! I had 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter for breakfast with 1/2 tablespoon of Apple sauce and I had a mini Baby Bel cheese for lunch with 2 whole wheat crackers. It was delish! Everything came directly off my NUT's guidelines. Still struggling with the protein drinks but I feel confident I can find the right balance. Merry Christmas everyone!
  4. Thanks for the responses and suggestions everyone sent. Sorry it's taken so long to respond, I was traveling. I started puréed/soft foods today & it has been great! I had 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter for breakfast and a mini Babybel cheese for lunch! Still struggling with the protein shakes but feel confident I can find something that will work!
  5. Need some suggestions....I'm 6 days post op and feel like I'm struggling! I am basically living on SF pudding and juice. I've tried a couple different protein shakes since I've been home & they make me gag! I've gotten some cream soups down but I don't like them. I'm just feeling a little down. I can start puréed food tomorrow so I'm hoping that will help.
  6. I'm 6 days out and feel like I'm struggling. I can't stand the protein shakes now! I tried a Premier chocolate shake this morning and gagged just putting it in my mouth. Pretty much living on juice and SF pudding. Agh!!!
  7. Also sleeved on Monday. Got home today about 1:00 and have been sipping fluids. Overall I feel pretty good. I haven't had any nausea or need for pain meds since Monday night. I can defiantly tell my tummy is weakling up! Lots of noise and rumblings!
  8. Hi all, just wanted to update. I'm home from the hospital this afternoon & feeling very good!! Even did a small load of laundry! Sleeved on Monday, the 16th.
  9. Just a quick update, surgery was yesterday morning. Dry mouth was the absolute worst part! Got to start ice chips this morning at 10 am. Overall things are good so far. Been sitting in a chair and walking the halls. Should be leaving tomorrow (my doc requires a two night stay).
  10. Sitting in the waiting room!! Yikes, I can't believe it's finally here!
  11. Sending up prayers for you and your loved ones.
  12. Good luck to all my fellow 16th sleeve brothers & sisters! Praying for a speedy recovery for all.
  13. Surgery is in the morning. Have to be there at 6:30! I too have been washing with anti bac soap for 2 days & again in the morning. Scared, excited, nervous all wrapped into one!!! God be with everyone on this journey. Prayers for Andrew!
  14. Fellow 12-16 sleevester here! Live in Arkansas. I'm ready for all of this build up to be over with! So glad I was busy at work today & have things planned all weekend. Come on Monday!!
  15. Good luck tomorrow AtlantaRed! Thanks for starting the thread and working so hard to get & keep the dates list going. I'm right behind you, Monday!

  17. I am starting my second week of full liquid diet and I have lost 10 lbs!! Wow! I'm going in tomorrow for my pre-op testing and first nutritionist appt.
  18. Hi Amanda! I'm not that close to Memphis, Little Rock area, but I haven't seen that many folks from our area on here. I'm scheduled for 12-16. Working on day 6 of my two week full liquid diet. Good luck on your adventure!
  19. Sounds like you are on the downhill side with surgery being Monday. I have another full week to go!
  20. I'm right there with everyone...started this full liquid diet last Sunday. I was doing much better during the work week. This weekend has been hard. I have tried to get down some yogurt but it is just nasty! I'm a super picky eater (I know, than why am I so fat!) so this diet has been super hard! Hang in there! We can do it!
  21. Thank you so much everyone!! I woke up this morning in a much better frame of mind. Even though it's been hard, I have NOT cheated. Not even once. I am single so I really appreciate coming to this forum for support.
  22. Thanks Laura for responding. I've read numerous posts from you and respect your insight. We had a "snow" day so I've been cooped up at home all day on liquids and just think I'm starting to psych myself out.
  23. Hi all, I am a newbie and have surgery scheduled for 12-16. My question is, are you ever able to eat real food? To me that means enchiladas, hamburger steak, pancakes, spaghetti, casseroles, chicken strips, etc... Am I going to have to drink Protein Shakes forever? I'm on day 6 of my full liquid diet so maybe that's where all this anxiety is coming from! Lol! Thanks all
  24. Two weeks of full liquids. 3 protein shakes a day, low dat cream soups, SF jello, pudding, etc. Started it on Sun (12-1) and surgery is 12-16. I'm doing better than I thought I would!
