  1. I have a desk job and was out 8 days. Was in the hospital 3 of those days (surgery Monday morning & released Wed afternoon). I could have very easily returned to work Monday but it was Christmas Eve so I returned to the office Wednesday. I had VSG and no problems.
  2. Down 2.2 this week! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 181.0 PL: 97 from SW Total PL: 141
  3. Lost 2.6 this week. I "competed" in my first 5k yesterday & came in 3rd place for my age division. Walked a personal best of 48:11. Awesome week!! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 183.2 PL: 94.6 from SW Total PL: 138.8
  4. Excited to be back on the losing track! Down 2.2 pounds this week! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 185.8 PL: 92.2 from SW Total PL: 136.2 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  5. Again, everyone is different.....but for me recovery was no problem. I had never had ANY kind of surgery. None! So, I was expecting the worse. I had my VGS about 9 am on a Monday morning and used the pain pump the last time about midnight that night. I left the hospital on Wednesday afternoon about 2pm and went to Academy Sports and walked around for about 45 mins Christmas shopping! I came home and did a Load of laundry and then rested. I was off all week and part of the next week (because it was the Christmas holiday) but I could have definitely gone back to work that Monday. I have a desk job so that makes a difference I'm sure. Overall, very uneventful and no issues at all. I'm almost 8 months out and down 90 pounds!
  6. Finally home from vacation...boo Not much to report but I did maintain over vacation so I'm excited about that. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 188 PL: 90 from SW Total PL: 134 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  7. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 189.4 PL: 88.6 from SW Total PL: 132.6 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost) Lost 1.2 this week, I'll take it! We leave for vacation Saturday (7/26) and I wanted to be in the 180's so I'm thrilled with this week's results!
  8. I have the Fitbit One and love it! It syncs with my IPhone and with MyFitness Pal. I instantly know how many calories I've burned vs how many I've eaten. The One measures steps, flights of stairs, sleep, and calories burned. I bought it from Amazon for $89 which was $10 cheeper than they have it in the stores around here (Arkansas). I have recommended the One to friends and family.
  9. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 190.6 PL: 87.4 from SW Total PL: 131.4 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  10. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 192.2 PL: 85.8 from SW Total PL: 129.8 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  11. I was in a tight 24W when I started this whole process at 322 pounds. Now, I'm 194 pounds and am comfortable in a 14. I'm 5'6"
  12. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 194.4 PL: 83.6 from SW Total PL: 127.6
  13. Yes, I got a water bottle I think the day I went for my pre-op paperwork? I can't remember for sure. They gave me a small photo album as a "gift" the day I discharged. Dr Gibbs was fine. Very business-like, not much chit-chat. He talked to me about 15 minutes in his office for the initial consult and probably 10 minutes both days in the hospital. I saw him for probably 10 minutes at my post-op office visit. I had no complications so I was in & out! Lol!!
  14. Hi all! Had my 6 month anniversary last week. Things are going amazing!! I've lost a total of 126.2 pounds & 82.2 since surgery on 12-16. I've gone from a tight 24W to a 14 or XL in the ladies section! I've never recall being able to shop in the regular section! This surgery has been awesome. I can eat pretty much anything I want, have more energy for exercise, and am learning to be more social and put myself out there. Well wishes to everyone! HW 322 SW 278 CW 195.8
  15. I have a plastic's consult July 10th for my arms. As others have said, this is the first area I want to have worked on! I have not stabilized in my weight loss but wanted to go ahead and get information & find out the total cost so I can go ahead and start saving. Hopefully I can have surgery around Christmas or in the early spring.
  16. Fellow Arkansas here! I live in Sherwood. I Had surgery with Dr Gibbs at Baptist on Dec 16, 2013. I've lost 126.2 overall (82.2 since surgery). I feel fantastic! Im so happy I made the decision to have surgery--especially glad I chose the sleeve. Good luck!
  17. Start exercising, however small it might be, NOW! The more that comes off pre-op that's just that much less you have to lose post-op!
  18. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 195.8 PL: 82.2 from SW Total PL: 126.2 Goal total pounds I want to lose: 152 so I have about 26 more pounds to go (goal weight is 170) My goal weight has never really been "set". Originally I thought about 175 but now I'm thinking 170. I guess I will keep going until my body levels out!!
  19. I have had my Fitbit One for about 2-3 months now & really like it. I have it synced with MyFitness Pal so it records my calories on that page. The One tracks your sleep & the little wrist band is very comfortable at night. I am thrilled that I got it!
  20. I mix crushed ice, 1 banana, 3/4 cup 2% milk, 1 scoop Syntrax Nectar Vanilla Bean Torte protein powder, a handful of frozen strawberries. Mix in the blender. The powder has 23 grams of protein in the scoop.
  21. I am 6 months post op today and I feel fantastic! There isn't anything (so far) that I can't eat. I get the same "full" feeling as I use to but just with MUCH smaller quantity. Today I ate lunch at Chili's and ordered the same meal that I use to, the Triple Dipper appetizer. In the past, I could have eaten the whole thing at one sitting. Today I ate one half southwest egg roll, one boneless buffalo wing (basically the size of a chicken nugget) and half a chicken strip. I took the rest home & can make 2 more meals out of it. I work out 4-5 times a week but I certainly don't feel handicapped by my sleeve. I ate half a cupcake for my niece's birthday, I go out & socialize with my friends, I've enjoyed an adult fruity beverage. I can't say, for me, life after the sleeve is much different.... Other than I've lost 123 pounds!!
  22. Hi MnWin and others. Sorry I didn't post last week, it simply slipped my mind. But I'm back today to post some great news! I'm officially in Onederland!!!!! I'm so flipping excited!! So, here are the numbers... HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16,2013) CW 198.4 TPL 123.6 TGP @25 pounds more (but hopefully my body will keep going)
  23. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 204.4 Only lost 1.2 pounds this week but a loss is a loss. I'll take it. I'm so close to Onederland but guess my body wants me to wait a few more weeks to get there.
  24. Happy Memorial Day everyone! Sorry I missed posting yesterday but was at the lake. Here are my numbers for this week. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 205.6
  25. I am 5 months PO and just joined Match.com last week. This is my first time to try online dating so all I can do is wait to see how it goes. I've lost a little over 70 since surgery and 114 overall. As my profile says...I'm hopeful!
