    5 months out & struggling

To you who had surgery a week ago, its so easy to be judgmental. To everyone else- I am now down 100 lbs. First off life changes don't happen over night, or just because one has surgery. I recognize daily - things that need to be tweaked and changed. Life still happens, parties still happen. I'm so grateful that I can self evaluate everyday and feel so blessed to have this amazing tool to help me move forward. This will be a war that I will be fighting my entire life.

    5 months out & struggling

Hello everyone! I am five months out and down 80 lbs- great news. I stalled for 3 weeks at exactly 200.0- I finally broke my plateau and am now at 198. My problem? I've become lax. I am sneaking Oreos and chocolates & junk food- and my calorie intake is too high! I need ideas on how to get back on track. Meal ideas, meal times, how many cal , carb grams, protein grams. What is realistic? What should my lifestyle look like? I feel like I'm going back to my old self & I need to stop!

    Too many carbs!

I am 31/2 mths out now, down 70 lbs today!! I am worried about myself though, I still have 50 lbs to go and my eating habits are slipping! I stick with my calories, but my diet is too high in carbs. Definitely not enough protein. Meat gets stuck, and is uncomfortable... Is that how it should be? Because of this I started eating carbs, bad I know. What does your meal plan look like? I need ideas! Thank You!
  4. Hi my name is.. Truly I realized yesterday I have a problem. Sugar is my drug of choice. I was pretty much off it since I was sleeved in early October. Yesterday- those Lindt chocolates did me in. It was that whole sensation of never getting enough- back! Anyone else have the same problem with certain types of food? Do you abstain completely? Is there such a thing as moderation? I am back on plan today... But quite frankly food choices scare me. Thanks in advance for your fabulous advice!
  5. Man the holidays are hard! I'm surrounded by garbage food! I'm trying to get back onto the program and am wondering what everyones daily meal plan looks like. Calories? Grams Protein? Grams Carbs? Serving sizes? How many times a day do you eat? Thanks !

Using Essential Oils In This Journey

I have hypothyroidism, I'm trying peppermint, lemon & Clove on my throat several times a day. I was sleeved Oct 8, and my nut says weightloss won't change my thyroid. I started the oils on 10/10 so It will be interesting when I go in for my labs in February if there is anything different. I'm kind of new to oils, so just learning what to do with them.

    Excersise

I love to exercise & always have! I even did a triathlon at 265 lbs. I had my surgery Oct 8, and have walked a little and swim laps 2 x a week. I'm not sure I should go hardcore with exercising, because I never lost weight before doing it. I'm really nervous that if I start lifting weights & doing cardio that I will stop losing. Any suggestions? What's your exercise routine? Has exercise slowed your weight loss? I am at 235 down from 278, so I still have a lot to lose.

    So Many Plans!

I am now 5 weeks out. My nut told me to eat 3 x a day, 3-4 oz. protein, veggies .. A little fruit. Has anyone else been given this plan? Have you had success?

    Not Losing Weight.

I am glad to hear I am not alone! This week has been depressing, I haven't lost anything! I was sleeved Oct 8- and have lost 36 lbs. I was so wanting to hit the 40 lb mark this week, but it didn't happen. We just need to be patient, it will come off.
  10. My kids are constantly telling me that my breath smells like poop! I sing in my church choir, last week my friend standing next too me politely handed me a breath mint and said " you need this"

    Punched in the stomach

I throw up with any kind of meat. Lunch meat, chicken, I tried ground beef and was sick for hours. I am supposed to be moving onto the solid food phase. I am really at a loss, I don't know what to eat anymore!
  12. I am almost 5 weeks out and any time I try solids I vomit and feel like someone has punched me in the stomach. The pain remains for hours. Food makes me sick! Is this normal? How long will it last? I have my doc. Appt next week.
  13. I would also like to know. I've tried solid foods now and then, only to throw it up and feel sick for hours afterwards. I mainly have 2 protein shakes a day, in one if them I pour a huge capful of the liquid vitamins- just to get them down. I can eat Greek yogurt, refried beans, cottage cheese &eggs make me gag.

    October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

Surgery date 10/8/13 Starting Weight 278 Today's Weight 245.2 Goal Weight ... Hum? Right now under 200, 165?? Is that realistic? I'm 5'8 I talked to a friend today that I hadn't seen in years- she had the surgery 2 years ago. Her advice.. Be STRICT for the first 6 mths!

    I don't like meat

I really don't like meat or eggs. I never have. After being being sleeved I dislike meat even more. That being said I don't know how to get my protein in. Cottage Cheese and Yogurt are tolerable, but boy that gets boring. I have refried nonfat beans almost everyday, and protein shakes. I am almost 4 weeks out & starting "real" food. Any suggestions? Have any of you tried quinoa after being sleeved?
