Punched in the stomach

I am almost 5 weeks out and any time I try solids I vomit and feel like someone has punched me in the stomach. The pain remains for hours. Food makes me sick! Is this normal? How long will it last? I have my doc. Appt next week.

Are you on soft solids? Where are you in the post-op diiet? I know that if I eat something with too many carbs, or just a bite or two too many I feel the same way. I have only had to vomit a few times in my 6 months since surgery. Are you eating something with dairy? I know some of us are lactose intolerant for a while after surgery.

I throw up with any kind of meat. Lunch meat, chicken, I tried ground beef and was sick for hours. I am supposed to be moving onto the solid food phase. I am really at a loss, I don't know what to eat anymore!
