  1. I want to try on some Old Navy jeans in the store, but I'm scared to go in there. The size 20's I just put on are used, maybe they're stretched out some? Eek!

  2. I wish there was a software program that would show us what we're going to look like!

      haleytrim

There is sort of. Google "weight loss avatar". It will show you several different programs.

It's fun to take pictures of yourself during the journey also. You would be surprised what a difference you can see in a month. Its fun to look back over the last 16 months

  3. I'm an idiot. Found a FWB, started having feelings, now he's gone and all I want to do is cry until I throw up and eat cinnamon rolls.

I wish I could post his picture here - he's so cute! Today he finally learned to latch onto his bottle so I could stop feeding him with a dropper. It's the most adorable thing EVER.

  4. I'm an idiot. I need to stop watching surgery videos online. They're making me all panicky.

    1. Kpar909956

      Kpar909956

I watched the video before and felt much better once I saw it. I Watched the sleeve video. I was very nervous to the point of getting my will in order. Everything will be fine. there is such a low risk compared to other surgeries. You will be on the road to recovery real soon. Hang in there

Thank you! I think it's the part where they shove the instruments through that bothers me, lol.

  5. I'm getting bony feet - I kinda like it :). Now if only my hands would follow suit!

    1. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

Cute :) I hadn't thought about my feet getting bony......they did shrink some mainly because I'm not retaining a much water as I was pre-surgery.

    2. VDB

      VDB

Me, too. Bony feet, have not seen mine in 25 years, who knew?

  6. I'm only counting the doctor's scales as official so not updating ticker, but this morning my home scale showed me down 22 pounds. I'm 10 days out. Wow.

      That's what I did too. Never a disappointment! :)

Yes! I think I'm going to pop the batteries out of my home scale and just ride this particular high out as far as I can, lol

  7. If I don't get my portion distortion under control soon, my dog is going to weigh more than I do.

    1. amponder

      amponder

LOL I fed my dog the rest of my chicken today I was thinking the same thing, but at least it's protein animals eat low carb too.

    2. BeagleLover

I'm 3 months out & still have trouble with the amount I initially put on my plate. My eyes are still bigger than my stomach. Never finish it.

    3. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Exactly! I always put the right amount there, and think, "there's no way that's enough!" As for my furball, I justify it by telling myself at least I'm not bringing her cheeseburgers every day anymore, lol.

  8. If I eat any more chicken, I'm going to sprout wings.

I do need to do more with fish - I'm not great at cooking it, but I like it when other people make it :).

  9. Intrigued by, but afraid of, the calcium patch...that's the one supplement I have trouble remembering through the day and I'd love to be able to slap a patch on and call it done.

    1. WLSResources/ClothingExch

      WLSResources/ClothingExch

Haven't heard of the patch. I'd be uncomfortable about it, too. I place two of my chews next to the pill box with all the rest and have never forget to take the morning and evening doses. Maybe that would help you remember? (That mine are like tiny tootsie rolls just may have something to do with remembering.)

    2. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Right! I like mine (I got orange ones, they taste like starburst, lol) it's just the timing when I get wrapped up in something at work. Sometimes I don't even hear the alarms I've set.

  10. Is it the surgery making my hair fall out, or trying to fix my damn credit? I feel like the "We're going OFF THE GRID" guy from the pizza commercial.

  11. Is jerky cooked or just dried? I want to try it, but my brain thinks it's raw meat and I just can't.

    1. katladee

      katladee

I believe the drying process in the heat actually cooks it so to speak.

    2. pink dahlia

      pink dahlia

I just read my package of Oberto All Natural Teriyaki Beef Jerky, it says "minimaly processed" . They can't sell raw meat in a package like that, it has to be edible right out of the package, so its not "raw meat ." It really good, high in protein, a good portable snack. I also like Oberto Turkey Jerky, taste very mild, you might start with that one !

  12. Just found out I can't have kids. Miss food so much right now. I almost regret surgery because I really want to curl up in a dark room and binge until I pop.

so sorry to hear your news but both MissMAc and OKC had some great options to consider down the road....

Thanks, everyone. I'm doing the m&m wallow today, and vowing to pull myself out of the dumps and start figuring out what I want to actually DO about it tomorrow. We already started talking possible donor eggs, but I'm going to a fertility center in the area to find out more about maybe how much time I have left to decide while that's still a viable option.

      OKCPirate

Good luck young lady, this isn't easy and requires the same dedication you brought into this surgery. The advancements in this area of medicine are staggering. The last time I did a legislative project on this was 10 years ago, my GF showed me how much advancement has been made since then.

  13. Just heard a horror story from a coworker about a friend who ate so much she "burst her stomach and it couldn't be fixed" a year after surgery. I call BS, but a little part of me wonders if it can happen!

    1. BigGirlPanties

      BigGirlPanties

burst her stomach?!?! doubtful, highly doubtful...

    2. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Right! I can't imagine anything worse than hurling that far out.

  14. Just realized my "skinny jeans" look like I'm wearing a loaded diaper. I can't complain about stuff getting too big! :)

  15. Lesson learned: take vitamins BEFORE eating. Calcium supplement just pushed me over the edge and now I feel like crap.

  16. Little things can make a huge difference! Protein shakes are much more drinkable over ice.

    1. roundisashape

      roundisashape

The coffee and the pineapple extract both sound delicious - thanks! Have either of you seen the new Fairlife milk? It's got more protein in it than regular milk (13 g for 1 cup vs 8 g). I've been drinking more of that, too. Most of my protein comes from food now, but some days it's just harder to meet that goal than others!

    2. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

I haven't seen the Fairlife milk yet. Will have to look for it. Does it taste like skim milk?

If you haven't already learned this (I had to ask), you can make up your Unjury shake and drink it the next day. I've found this very helpful from a morning time-saving standpoint. Also, I think the shakes taste better when allowed to "bloom" for a while. So many brands of powder say you should drink it immediately.

    3. roundisashape

      roundisashape

It does - I can't tell the difference at all. It's supposed to be the way it's processed that causes it to have less sugar and more protein, but I don't have any clue what's involved :)

  17. Logging a visit to the salad bar in MFP is a pain in the butt.

    1. ShrinkingPeach

      ShrinkingPeach

Agreed, anything with lots of components is a pain. In the end it will be worth it!

    2. LisaLouBop

      LisaLouBop

Yes, but you can make it into a meal on MFP and just enter the meal the next time. I typically eat the same thing from most salad bars I go to.

  18. Looking forward to being able to afford to eat local / organic since I won't need to eat like a family of 4 to be full.

  19. Love my sleeve! Feeling great physically, but stressing about getting my final Economics paper in tonight. Just forgot and stuffed something in my face out of habit (that I REALLY shouldn't have eaten). She kicked it right back out. Reminder: issued.

  20. Mini goal met! Lost 20% of my excess weight.

Thanks! My next mini goal is 3 pounds away (265). That's the weight on my driver's license, lol

  21. Mini goal reached! Next goal in 7 pounds.

  22. Mini-goal met! -30% excess weight. 2 pounds to next mini-goal.

  23. More scared of the IV than the surgery. It's really on my mind. Is that crazy or what?

    1. Packerfan61964

      Packerfan61964

I think that I am more scared of the anesthesia than an IV!!

ask for a painkiller shot before the IV!

    3. roundisashape

      roundisashape

I'd be cool with the anesthesia if they could gas me, lol. And I had no idea the shot before the IV was even an option!

  24. My 5 year old niece sat on my lap and said, "You're getting smaller, I fit on your lap better" :)

  25. My Fitbit Zip is coming tomorrow - woohoo!

    1. Georgia

      Georgia

yes, i am and love it! I also like mine because it tracks sleep and has caller id!!

    2. HappiTam

      HappiTam

I didn't realize that I got up in the night to pee until I got fit bit. I also tracked how many steps it took to walk to the alarm clock, hit snooze, and go back to bed.

    3. roundisashape

      roundisashape

That's funny! I'm glad these things didn't exist when I worked nights. I was up in my sleep all the time - even woke up outside, in the rain, in my jammies, cleaning out the car one day.
