Yes, breathing is a great place to start....literally. There are many breathing/relaxation and surgery preparation FREE videos out there on-line. I used them and did great with my stress/anxiety. I still use some of the exercises for managing mindful eating. Breathing Is Good!

Best Wishes and remember to keep us posted..

Thanks! It's going to fly by!

  6. 3rd weight goal met in 16 days - 275! Those 25 lb increments seemed like reasonable mini-goals.

  7. 5 lbs to get to -100, 6 to be under 200. These few pounds are taking FOREVER, lol.

      ProudGrammy

you are sooo close to those #lbs - you have come a long way!!! "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It!" LOL

take your measurements, even if you are not loosing weight, your inches might be dropping

      good luck - kathy

That's hilarious! I think I am, I'm getting into stuff I couldn't before - but once I'm under 200 pounds I can skydive without an extra charge. REALLY want to do that!

  8. 6 days left, and my list of to-do's is growing. If I die, I'm going to die with a dirty house.

LOL! That actually sounds like a good idea. I think it's going to be my 50 pound reward :)

I have a little longer, my surgery is December 10th. I am doing the same thing with trying to clean out closets and the laundry room and get rid of all the junk and clutter my family has horded. It feels metaphoric to losing the extra weight my body has been carrying around. I have a tendency to get a little OCD with my cleaning lists. I like the idea of hiring someone for the cleaning, but December is not a month with anything extra in the budget. I think we need to give ourselves a little grace and be happy with what we are able to accomplish. I wish you the best in your endeavors!

Yeah, that's a good point - I'm kind of at the stage where I've accepted that I still have to go to work tomorrow, and other than changing my sheets what's done is about all that is going to get done :). Thank you for the good wishes, and I wish you the best right back! :)

  9. 60 pounds down and I'm still not down a shirt size - I look like an ice cream cone, lol.

I am losing my weight from the bottom half of my body as well. It is weirder how that works.

Lol! I know mine are deflating, but not enough to spend money on a new bra yet. I'm burning through pants sizes like crazy, though - it really is weird!!

  10. 60% of my excess weight is gone as of today. According to the surgeon's office, I'm now a textbook success - I'm not done yet, though!

  11. 8 days from my 6 month surgiversary - if I can lose 3 more pounds, I'll be halfway to goal. I might even get a haircut just to take off a few ounces, lol.

Thanks, all! 1 pound to go now by the 25th - I wanted to be half done at 6 months and it looks like I might make it!

  12. A spoon full of espresso powder and a squirt of caramel Folgers Flavors in some Nectar cappuccino is actually pretty darn good on ice.

Another favorite when I'm in the mood for something chocolate/mocha (chocolate's not a huge draw for me), is to mix about 10 oz. skim milk, 1 serving of the Unjury Vanilla, 1 serving Chocolate Splendor, and 4-6 ozs. cold/room temp coffee, shake well, drink chilled or over ice.

    4. Smye

      Smye

I absolutely agree, the cappuccino nectar is technically bareable, but with the addition of espresso powder it's pretty darned good.

  13. Ahh stop! I got a pair of 10's buttoned! I couldn't sit down or breathe, but I got INTO those bad boys, lol

Way to go! My 12s are baggy so sometime in the next week or two I am going to try some 10s! I hope they fit!

Thanks! Yeah, I left them at the store, but not before I thought I was going to have to ask for help, lol. My birthday is in about 5 weeks, I'm aiming to make those my "snug" jeans then :)

  14. And so it begins...the hair loss, that is. Hopefully since it started earlier than most people say, it'll end earlier?

  15. Anyone know anything about MCT oil powders? Or the Truenutrition brand that lets you mix your own protein stuff? I've been reading and thought about going 95% whey / 5% MCT in a protein blend, but haven't found much anecdotal information about people trying it post WLS

    1. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

I have never used a powder, only liquid, sorry.

    2. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Did the liquid seem to make any difference for you - either for weight loss, energy, metabolic stuff? I went ahead and ordered a 90/10 whey to MCT blend and am going to give it a try.

  16. Boss took us out to lunch - I was full off the meat from a sandwich alone :). And found out I can eat lettuce - took a few bites and it was WONDERFUL!

  17. Cheese is hard to barf up. Won't be trying that again for a while. It's been a tough day.

Sorry to hear that. I had trouble with cheese the first time so haven't tried again, but will sometime.

Thanks! The whole thing was oddly gentle, like my stomach just sort of said, "Excuse me, miss, I'd like to return this." At least it was good going down, lol!

      BLERDgirl

I use a tiny bit of shredded cheese. Usually mix it in my eggs.

  18. Christmas potluck at work tomorrow. I'm on purees, so this isn't going to be much fun. I'm making meatballs, but there will be sooo much food.

    1. Jordan861

      Jordan861

Eat soup/puree before the party. You will be full and not want anything.... You have this....

  19. Crystal Light doesn't suck. I feel like it used to. Sorry I waited so long to try it again!

    1. barbb3

      barbb3

I mainly use the lemonade crystal light. Do you have a favorite?

    2. roundisashape

      roundisashape

So far, definitely the lemonade. I remember it used to have a weird aftertaste, but now it tastes like lemonade flavored kool-aid.

  20. Do you count / track the calories in your vitamins and supplements?

      IcanMakeit

No. I started out doing that and then decided it was not really necessary since I only use sugar free.

    3. Zoey716

      Zoey716

I only track that I take them so I don't forget to take them. However, I do not track them for calorie purposes. I don't think it's that necessary.

    4. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Thanks, all - I'm debating on whether to keep counting them or not. The vitamins, fish oil, fiber gummies and calcium chews add up to 83 calories. Doesn't sound like much, but it's a big chunk of a low calorie day.

  21. Do you take your ursodiol whole or sprinkle it in something?

  22. Doc appointment today - just regular obese now, and all my labs are perfect :)

      roundisashape

Thanks, all! And Jane, you can do it! I'm going to enjoy it for a day or two, then start jamming towards "overweight" :)

    4. sweetie716

      sweetie716

I love tracking the obesity "classes." I'm working on my next goal of 180 right now, which would mean "overweight" 8 pounds to go :)

  23. Finally slept on my stomach last night, but getting up was an adventure. I was like a turtle.
