BladeFox got a reaction from terry1118 in Anyone want to be fat again?
I don't miss being fat, but I can relate to the skin issue. I have wings and I am not interested in flying anytime soon. There are times when I just say, "hey, love me, talk about me or hate me, today, I'm gonna go sleeveless today." However, I'm not that confident when around work or family folk. I'm also not interested in more surgery when I reach goal...considering living with the skin issue but won't quite know until I get there.
Overall, I am extremely - ok, very happy with my choice. There are other mental issues that I go through that overrides the saggy skin thing right now.

BladeFox got a reaction from Bandista in How has your husband/wife/SO fared during your WLS journey?
My guy is my rock and my support. He couldn't get around taking me out to dinner and I was struggling with it as well for a few weeks, but I have reinforced to him that he can take me anywhere and I will do the selecting of food. Even if that means that I order a regular meal and have to get a carry out for later. I sometimes complain about not eating the way that others do and not having the urge to cook anymore, but he lives with my complaints. He doesn't like the fact that I hate cooking, but is adjusting to quick 30 minute dishes when and if I cook these days. Long gone are the days of cooking big meals throughout the week. The entire family has adjusted for my success. Love them!

I just don't respond. It could be that entitlement age where people want you to hand information to them on a silver platter, line by line, stage by stage.

Try to deny yourself what you want for six weeks and do what the doctor has ordered. You will be better for it.

BladeFox got a reaction from Debbie3sons in What Is (or Was) Holding You Back from Weight Loss Surgery?
I actually didn't consider it until a couple of months before attending the information session. Prior to, I had heard that many people actually hated people that got the surgery because they thought it was a cheat and they thought that it was for extremely obese people.
Before I dove in, I had tried at least 2-3 diets and they worked only to have regained it back. I knew that I didn't have the willpower to prevent me from overeating. That was half the battle. Now the only other conscious battle (the other half) is in keeping the carbs in perspective.
I encourage people to do them and not worry about the naysayers. They don't live in our skins!

BladeFox got a reaction from alwaysvegas in When will i feel normal again?
What is normal? Is it fat, is it being out of breath, is it eating until you bust...? I ask that question with a lot of love because when you think about it, our normal was with those things added to it and maybe we should ask, when will we feel the 'new normal,' and what does that feel like?
I can tell you this, you will begin to have more energy, you will get back to eating regular foods but not so much and maybe not the same foods as before. Hang in there, this will pass. We all went through this in the beginning, but my old normal is no longer. Hooray!

Miss Mac thank you!!! I'm 5 months post op & thought I must be the only one who gains 3-4 lbs overnight! I know I've not ate enough to gain!!! Seems like I will gain overnight then stall for about 3 weeks then lose that 3 plus 1 or 2 more. Then repeat. I'm only 20-30 lbs from goal so I expected weight loss to slow.
Stalls do happen & they stink! Just don't give up. It will eventually even out. Also take your measurements. I am getting smaller even when the scale doesn't move. Best of luck!

BladeFox reacted to livvsmum in GOAL! 133.6 Pounds and 10.5 Months Later! (w/pics)
I was SO excited this morning to weigh in and see that I passed my goal of 145 pounds. I am about 10.5 months post-op and down 133.6 pounds. I could still stand to lose a few more pounds, but I am super proud of myself for reaching my original goal in less than a year. I'm also super proud of my non-scale goals that I've accomplished like improving my health, training for a 1/2 marathon, and working on my emotional eating issues. I've done a lot of hard work this year, and I wouldn't trade the changes I've made for the world.
For those of you just starting on this journey, hang in there! It's so worth the effort!

I'm almost 6 months out. I eat 2-3 oz of chicken breast with half a Tomato for lunch. String cheese mid afternoon. 3 turkey meatballs at night with a few broccoli crowns. Protein bar if needed.
That is a typical day for me.

BladeFox got a reaction from gourmetone in When is a stall no longer a stall?
Interesting question. I have been stuck for about a month now. I am eating no more than 900 calories per day and the scale just doesn't move. I'm not "stall freaked" I'm just wondering if my age or peri menopause is preventing me from losing like I once did only 4 years ago and maybe I won't lose as much as I am expecting to lose now at an older age. My body is losing inches and I am now in size 18-20 or 1x's instead of size 24/26 - so yay! That scale just doesn't want to budge or give up those pounds.

I think it's really going to depend on each of us. I'm exactly 5 weeks out today and I had part of a tilapia fillet last night with no problem. I broiled tilapia and pureed it during my puree phase as well and had no issues with it. It never ceases to amaze me how complex and individual our bodies all are!

My best guess is that we don't have as much stomach acid as before. As you introduce "difficult" foods into your diet, your stomach has to adapt and figure out how to process them.

I'm wearing my older bras that I kept when I lost weight before and they are fitting nicely. I think most people don't realize they have dropped a bra cup size because they don't get properly fitted. Now since our ta-ta's are deflating, it is good to get fitted to keep them up as high as we can get them Jiggle, Jiggle ladies
