ucjes got a reaction from Mama Spike in corn tortillas?
so I'm a couple of days away from being 6 weeks out. I'm on soft foods and I've been eating a lot of fish, eggs, and rotisserie chicken. Tonight I'm meeting a friend for dinner. It will be the 1st time out to a restaurant since surgery. For some reason I'm nervous about it. We are going to Fuzzy's taco shop. I've already scoped out the menu and I'm going to get baja grilled shrimp soft taco or fish taco. I'm planning on just eating the shrimp and or fish because I'm not sure if I can eat corn tortillas. I know i'm supposed to stay away from breads til week 7 but i'm not sure about tortillas. Anyone know corn tortillas or ok to eat at this point?

ucjes got a reaction from Scorpion11 in When Does The 2Nd Stall Hit?
I understand your frustration. I was sleeved on nov 18 and lost 10 pounds the 1st week which I know was just Water mostly. So now here I am 2 weeks and 2 days into my "3 week stall." If actually really lasts 3 weeks I'm going to lose my s**t. I even gained 2 pounds. I get that fact my body is adjusting to the trauma of surgery and also trying to hold on to everything I put in it because it thinks I'm starving it. My understanding has turned into complete frustration. I decided to up my calories thinking that would help. I went from about 500 to about 800. 200 calories was just from my Protein shake which I hate but i suck it down anyway. I know everyone that says this is normal but it doesn't feel like it. I just makes me feel like I'm failing. It makes me feel like I wasted $12,000 of my hard earned money. I could have gained 2 pounds on my own...ugh

nope. You do not have to jump thru all the insurance hoops. I was self pay. When I went to my first consultation my surgeon told me I could go ahead a schedule my surgery 3 weeks later. I didn't have to see a therapist, do a 6 month diet I hear about or anything. I did have to do the 2 week liquid diet though. I also had to do some blood work and and EKG but that's it. I didn't have my surgery 3 weeks later though. I waited a few months until I was on vacation from work

ucjes got a reaction from Tiki in 1St Week After Surgery..how Did It Go?
I had my surgery on monday and it went well. I spend all day tethered to a iv poll and a catheter. The next day no catheter but still the dreaded IV poll. I had the option to go home tuesday night but my mom doesn't see well to drive at night so they gave me the option to stay til wednesday morning. Now it thursday and I'm trying to get my 60 oz of liquid a day in that is required by my surgeon. Pretty much Water, broth, and Jello. I was just a little curious so I stepped on the scale this morning and not much change. I think I went home heavier than I started due to all the fluids they pumped in me at the hospital plus I started my period this week which was a real drag. I usually gain a few pounds of water weight during that time. My feet were puffed up pretty good due to all the extra Fluid but that is starting to subside now. My follow up is tuesday so I will see how that goes. I'm thinking I may stay off the scale til then. anyways I would like to hear how everyone else's first week went. Also how much did you lose that first week. I'm 5ft 1 and 266 pounds. well I was the day of surgery now my scale says 267....damn water weight
