  1. I started walking recently and I think that has helped me too.
  2. Beaumont Texas here I am!
  3. HI. We were sleeved around the same time. Mine was Nov 18th. Lately been eating a lot of fish. I haven't lost much since surgery which has been very discouraging. I quit weighing several weeks ago because it was causing me too much anxiety. It was the dreaded 3 week stall. Lately I felt my clothes getting looser so it seems I break thru the stall. i'm still not weighing yet. I go to the dr on the 2nd and I will see then.
  4. that sounds like a good idea. You can get breakfast stuff at night there? Im leaving towards shrimp taco with no tortilla and maybe refried Beans. I'm not big on black beans
  5. so I'm a couple of days away from being 6 weeks out. I'm on soft foods and I've been eating a lot of fish, eggs, and rotisserie chicken. Tonight I'm meeting a friend for dinner. It will be the 1st time out to a restaurant since surgery. For some reason I'm nervous about it. We are going to Fuzzy's taco shop. I've already scoped out the menu and I'm going to get baja grilled shrimp soft taco or fish taco. I'm planning on just eating the shrimp and or fish because I'm not sure if I can eat corn tortillas. I know i'm supposed to stay away from breads til week 7 but i'm not sure about tortillas. Anyone know corn tortillas or ok to eat at this point?
  6. I'm sitting at about a 4 week stall too. It's very discouraging. I quit weighing a few weeks ago because it was causing me way too much anxiety. I was sleeved on nov 18 and I'm doing everything right so I guess it will come off eventually

I make them similar with egg beaters and Jimmy Dean Turkey crumbles
  8. I"m "ucjes" on myfittnesspal. Glad to be buddies. I'm a little over a month out.
  9. I know how you feel. I see a lot of people who lose tons in the 1st month. I am not one of those people. I was in a group on Facebook and I got so discouraged by people losing a 100 pounds in 6 months I deleted the group. I am also about a month out. I had surgery on nov 18. The day of surgery I was at 266 and a week later I lost 10 pounds then nothing after that. I was in the dreaded stall. A week after that I gained 2 pounds. I refused to weigh after that. It caused me too much anxiety. I may have lost a few pounds since then but doesn't feel like much. I'm doing everything right so I guess it will come off when it comes off. It just takes time for our bodies to adjust to everything. I also started walking this past week. It made me feel better and not so discouraged
  10. you say soft but I'm assuming you meant like mushy, pureed. I'm only a month out but I ate so much greek yogurt I refuse to touch it anymore.. Try cottage cheese and egg salad and chicken salad. I ate a lot of that during my week of all that. I still eat cottage cheese. I love it. You didn't make a mistake. it will pay off. Being emotional is part of it though. If you think you are emotional now wait til you hit a stall. I stalled after my first week. I think I'm still in a stall but I refuse to weigh because it caused me too much anxiety.
  11. I didn't have a drain or any kind of leak test. I keep reading post about people having leak test so I dunno.
  12. I wish. My insurance doesn't cover any kind of bariatric anything. My sister loaned me the money and I'm paying her back
  13. I know exactly how you feel because I"m going through the same thing you feel. I had surgery on the Nov 18th and lost 10 pounds the 1st week nothing since then. I actually haven't weighed in over a week because I didn't want to keep feeling defeated by the scale not moving. 3 week stalls are not a myth. It's just your body trying to adjust but it really sucks.
  14. tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, mashed potatos
  15. He is my surgeon. I had my surgery on nov 18. I didn't have any problems. It's a center of excellence so I was good with that
  16. I'm so frustrated and discouraged. I was sleeved on nov 18 and lost 10 pounds the 1st week which I know was just Water mostly. So now here I am 2 weeks and 2 days into my "3 week stall." If actually really lasts 3 weeks I'm going to lose my s**t. I even gained 2 pounds. I get that fact my body is adjusting to the trauma of surgery and also trying to hold on to everything I put in it because it thinks I'm starving it. My understanding has turned into complete frustration. I decided to up my calories thinking that would help. I went from about 500 to about 800. 200 calories was just from my Protein shake which I hate but i suck it down anyway. I know everyone that says this is normal but it doesn't feel like it. I just makes me feel like I'm failing. It makes me feel like I wasted $12,000 of my hard earned money...ugh

  18. oh. well tilapia works too. I just want to be able to bake it in the oven or in the skillet and not have to mush it up or puree it. I wanted to make sure that was what "soft food" meant. I will wait on the salmon for awhile.
  19. So this week was my pureed week and next week I can gradually work in a few soft foods. Tender and moist fish is on the list. Does that mean I can bake a salmon or tuna filet in the oven or sear it in the skillet? Is that considered a soft food? I hope so
  20. oh no not me! I wouldn't dare cheat in the beginning. I had surgery on nov 18. first week was Clear Liquids, 2nd week was full liquids. That week was thanksgiving and I had a Protein shake for thanksgiving lunch. I went to my dad's house that dad and purposely showed up after everyone was done eating. Worked out great. I wasn't hungry anyway so it wasn't a big deal. This week is purees. So now its cottage cheese and chicken salad. Still not hungry. Just eating cuz i have too.
  21. i had surgery on the 18th. I've had hardly any problems. I had a little gas for a couple of days but not much pain. My stomach wa a little sore for a few days but I had one of those belly band things that keep everything from moving around. That helped a lot. I had no problems with drinking water. I lost 10 pounds the 1st week and now a week and a half later I have lost nothing else. I finally had throw the scale up in the closet so I would quit weighing myself every day. I've read that these little stalls are normal and it's just your body trying to adjust to everything. Its still extremely frustrating. This week started my purees and i'm living on chicken salad and cottage cheese. I haven't been hungry at all which is great. So eat because I have too...lol Can I lose a few pounds already? jeez...anyone else have this problem?
  22. I'm pretty frustrated my self. I had surgery on nov 18 and lost 10 pounds the 1st week during my clear liquid stage. Now a week and a half later I have lost nothing else. Finally I decided to put the scale up in the closet so I won't stand on it everyday. I'm beyond frustrated. Everyone says this is very normal and your body is just trying to play catch up. idk
  23. this was my full liquid week. I started drinking milk which is actually pretty filling. Also I started eating greek yogurt and creamy Soups and straining out all the chunks. of course I'm trying to suck down the nasty Protein shakes. At first they were ok now I just can't stand them. yesterday I got Isopure Protein powder with 50 Grams of protein!. I figure I can get one of those in and try to get the rest of my protein somewhere else. tmrw starts purees and I'm pretty excited about it. I hope it will help with my exhaustion and getting the scale moving.
  24. Hi there. So my first week went well and I lost 10 pounds. I guess that happens when all you are putting in your mouth is Water and tea. My 2nd week has been a totally different story. This is my full liquids week. Now I'm drinking Protein shakes, milk, a little bit of creamy Soup, and greek yogurt. I'm also trying to get in at leaf 60 oz of liquid a day. Some days are better than others on the 60 oz. I'm probably getting in 600 calories. Anyways I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do and nothing is happening. At one point during the week I lost half a pound. Today is saturday and since monday I am up almost a pound since monday. I guess there are several factors to this. My body thought it was in starvation mode and it's holding on to everything I put in it. Its possible my body is just trying to adjust after all the stress of surgery. I figure after my body is adjusted then I will start losing....I hope... Anyone else have this issue? what do you think? thanks a bunch! Jessica
  25. nope. You do not have to jump thru all the insurance hoops. I was self pay. When I went to my first consultation my surgeon told me I could go ahead a schedule my surgery 3 weeks later. I didn't have to see a therapist, do a 6 month diet I hear about or anything. I did have to do the 2 week liquid diet though. I also had to do some blood work and and EKG but that's it. I didn't have my surgery 3 weeks later though. I waited a few months until I was on vacation from work
